Useful and medicinal properties of the umbrella centaurus( centaurium)

Biennial bare plant up to 40 cm tall. The stem is single or several, at the top branchy, tetrahedral. Leaves are radical in rosette, lanceolate-egg-prominent;cauline - elliptically-long, solid, whole-stemmed, with five veins. Flowers are bright pink in the corymbose-paniculate inflorescence - dichasia. Fruit is an oblong boll. Blooms in June-August.

Grows on the flooded meadows, along the banks of rivers, between shrubs, along deposits, fields, roadside ditches. The plant is widespread in the non-chernozem zone of Russia.

In folk medicine it is called Centauri grass. A similar view - a thousand-thousand-pound golden-meets in the meadows, is also subject to collection. It has a small height( up to 15 cm), stems branched from the base, and smaller flowers.

Medicinal raw materials are grass, collected at the beginning of flowering along with the radical leaves. Raw materials are bound in bundles and dried in air in a shade or in a well-ventilated room. The smell is missing, the taste is bitter. Shelf life of raw materials is 2 years.

The alkaloid genecamine contained in the plant has a pronounced anthelmintic effect.

A centipede is used as a bitter, stimulates the secretion and peristalsis of the digestive organs of the

paraty, which stimulates appetite, is used to improve digestion and revitalize intestinal peristalsis, and also has a mildly strong effect.

It is used for stomach ailments, constipation, flatulence, heartburn, with liver diseases, insufficient bile secretion.

In folk medicine, the herb of the centipedes is widely used as a remedy for digestion, with gastrointestinal diseases, with gastritis with increased secretion of gastric contents, heartburn, constipation, accumulation of gases in the intestines, diseases of the liver and biliary tract, vomiting, as an anthelmintic, in diseaseslungs( for tuberculosis of the lungs - they drink like tea), hearts, with headache, anemia, as a remedy to restore strength after diseases accompanied by a prolonged severe feverish condition, with yellowheh, malaria, diabetes, some parasitic infestations and alcoholism.

Application

Tincture 25%: 15-20 drops 3 times a day for 30 minutes before meals.

Decoction 1: 10-15 g per 200 ml;1 tbsp.spoon 3 times a day for 30 minutes before eating.

Infusion: 3 g of herbs pour 0.5 liters of boiling water, infuse for 10-15 minutes, strain and take 1-1.5 hours before meals( daily dose).

Decoction 2: mixture of centaury, cumin and tansy evenly;15 g of the mixture per 200 ml of boiling water;drink 1 tbsp.spoon 3 times a day, also used for small worms in the region of the cecum.

Powder: powdered grass, a hundred thousandth of gold is prescribed for 1-2 g several times a day.

Infusion: 1 teaspoon of herbs for a glass of boiling water, insist 10 minutes and drink 1/4 cup 3 times a day.
