Salt Free Diet
From the point of view of the "water" theory advocates, sticking to a salt-free diet is simply meaningless, since table salt is one of the most important components of the human body on a par with water, potassium and oxygen. These substances are necessary for our body to function normally. Still Pliny, who lived in the I century BC.E., called salt the greatest of medicines known to mankind.
Approximately 27% of the salt reserves are stored in the form of crystals in bone tissue. Many believe that sodium chloride contributes to the strength of bones. Lack of salt can give rise to osteoporosis, as in these conditions it is extracted from the bones and goes to the needs of the body. The lack of salt also leads to an excess of acid in some cells, which causes the destruction of the DNA structure, which in turn serves as a trigger mechanism for the development of malignant tumors. Clinical studies have shown that most of the cancer patients in the body had a salt deficiency.
As we said earlier, if the body accumulates salt, it means that it tries to retain water. A person may have swelling, from which water is subsequently "pumped out" and sent to the cells. This increases the blood pressure, which is necessary to increase the pressure during filtration.
When starting treatment with water, one should remember that if its volume has increased and the amount of salt remains the same, the body loses salt. After you started taking 6-8 glasses of water every day, you need to think about how to replenish the salt reserves. If you suddenly started to feel muscle spasms at night, then your body acutely lacks sodium. Fainting and dizziness are another sign of salt deficiency. In the latter case, you need to increase not only the intake of sodium, but also the amount of mineral salts and vitamins, especially if you simultaneously decide to lose weight and adhere to a low-calorie diet.
Be sure to include in your menu vegetables and fruits, they contain the optimal amount of all the necessary substances for the body.
Supporters of the "water" theory believe that taking 10 glasses of water a day, you need to use 1/2 teaspoons( 3 g) of salt daily. It is important to make sure that your kidneys produce enough urine, otherwise you will have swelling. If you notice that your legs are swollen, do not panic. Just a few days, reduce the amount of salt taken and increase the amount of water consumed. In this case, swelling should come very soon. In addition, do not forget about physical activity: muscle activity contributes to the flow of fluid into the blood, and excess salt exits the body with urine and sweat.
As for the ration, the main component of your menu should be carrots containing a large amount of beta-carotene - the precursor of vitamin A. This vegetable is an indispensable product that regulates metabolic processes in the liver and is of great importance for vision. To the daily amount of water you consume it is useful to add orange juice, because it contains potassium.
