    Interestingly, the name of the salad is not associated with Guy Julius Caesar, but with the name of the person who is most often called the inventor of the dish - the American chef of Italian origin Caesar Cardini. In the twentieth century, Cardini owned several restaurants and, according to legend, the salad was invented by the cook, when in his kitchen there were almost no food left, and visitors demanded food.

    Ingredients

    Chicken fillet, white loaf, lettuce leaves, eggs, cheese, garlic, olive oil, mustard, lemon juice, salt, pepper.

    Preparation

    First of all, we prepare garlic croutons, or crackers from white bread. To do this, we cut the crust of the loaf and cut it into cubes, about 1cm by 1cm. Croutons are dried in the oven until golden brown. Do not leave croutons in the oven unattended, turn them over.

    Finely chop garlic and pour it on a heated frying pan with olive oil. On the same frying pan pour the dried croutons and fry them in oil with garlic for one or two minutes.

    Chicken fillet cut into thin strips and fry in olive oil. Salt and pepper the meat.

    In order to prepare a classic Caesar salad it is necessary to make a dressing from eggs. For this, the eggs are lowered into boiling water for one minute and immediately taken out. Yolks are ground with mustard with garlic. Pour lemon juice and olive oil into the mixture. Salt, pepper and mix thoroughly.

    Now you can start assembling the salad.

    Lettuce leaves, washed and dried, tear into pieces and lay on the bottom of the plate. We lay chicken fillets on top. Now sprinkle all the crackers and fill it with salad dressing. Top with lettuce sprinkled with cheese, grated on a large grater.

    Tip: if the sauce is too acidic for your taste, you can add a teaspoon of honey to it.
