    Flax is an annual herbaceous plant of the family of flax. They grow it in Belarus, Ukraine, in the northern and middle parts of the European part of Russia, in Siberia, in Central Asia. There are two main varieties of flax: flax-flax and flax-curls. The plant reaches a height of 1 m, with a thin erect, on the top branched stalk. Leaves are narrow-lanceolate, spiral. Flowers - blue, large, collected in semi-zoogrophs. Fruit - a box. Blossoms from June to August. In folk medicine, seeds are used.

    Flax seeds contain fatty oil( up to 40%), vitamin Ab, proteins, carbohydrates, up to 12% mucus, glycoside lin-marin. It is used as an enveloping, anti-inflammatory and mild laxative. With a dry cough it facilitates cough, helps with exacerbation of gastritis and peptic ulcer, soothes pain in the intestines. Seed broth is used in the treatment of hemorrhoids and cracks in the rectum, with cystitis, nephritis and bladder stones.

    From the seeds of flax, the pharmaceutical industry produces linetol, used to treat atherosclerosis, and linol - for external use.

    Infusion: 1 tbsp.l.flax seeds pour 0.5 liters of boiling water and insist in a thermos for 1 hour. Strain and drink 0.3 cup three times a day.

    Cold infusion: 3 tsp.pounded seeds pour a glass of cold water and infuse for 3 hours, stirring frequently. Take 50 ml 3 times a day.

    Seed broth: 10 g of seeds boiled in 300 ml of water 15 min. Insist 45 minutes, strain. Take 0.3 cup three times a day.

    The preparation from flax seeds - linetol is used in bandages for burns( reduces pain and stimulates healing).

    To enhance lactation, it is recommended that breastfeeding women take 2 grams of flax seeds daily in 1 to 2 doses.

    There is a popular belief: "If a pregnant woman takes a sedentary bath in a decoction of flax seeds, then she will easily give birth."

    Bulgarian phytotherapeutists proposed the following composition for pyelonephritis, which includes flaxseed:

    A strawberry leaf - 10 g, nettle leaf - 20 g, a birch leaf - 20 g, flaxseed - 50 g.

    2 tbsp.l. Collect 1 cup boiling water, heat on a water bath for 15 minutes, cool for 45 minutes, drain. Top up with boiled water to 200 ml and take 0.3 cup three times a day.

    In diabetes mellitus and inflammatory diseases of the bladder, a collection is prepared:

    Oat straw, bean leaves, blueberry leaf, flaxseed. Total take equal, stir, 3 tbsp.l.mixture pour three cups of boiling water, boil for 10 minutes, insist 45 minutes, drain. Take 50-100 ml per day.
