Useful and medicinal properties of buckwheat sowing( common)
Annual herbaceous plant up to 70 cm high. Root stem, strongly branched at the root neck and slightly branched deeper. Stem erect, reddish, branching at the top. Leaves are one-piece, regular, triangular, with a swept base and a blistered bell at the base of the petioles of the lower leaves, the upper leaves are sessile. Flowers with a simple perianth, pink, five-parted. Stamens 8, pistil 1 with three stalks. In different flowers stamens and columns of different lengths. Inflorescences are fragrant brushes. Fruit is a triangular nutlet. Blossoms in July, bears fruit in August.
Cultivated in the middle belt of the European part of Russia, in Ukraine, in Belarus.
Medicinal raw materials are the tips of flowering leaf stems - grass and seeds. Collection of raw materials is made during flowering, seeds - as they mature. The raw materials are dried in air, in shade or dryers, at a temperature of 30-40 degrees.
Finished raw materials - green grass with the smell of fresh hay. Shelf life 1 year.
In the grass found: glycoside rutin( 3-rhamnogluco-zid quercetin), chlorogenic, gallic, protocatechinic and coffee acids. The seeds contain starch( up to 67%), fatty oils, citric acid, malic acid. Fagopirin was isolated from flowers.
From leaves and flowers produce drugs rutin, urutin, rutami. Rutin belongs to the group of vitamin P( improves the fragility and permeability of capillaries).It is used for the same indications as vitamin P: for the treatment of hypo-and avitaminosis R, in the treatment and prevention of hemorrhage in the brain, heart, retina,
with a tendency to hemorrhages in the skin and mucous membranes( hemorrhagic diathesis), with hypertensivediseases together with drugs that reduce blood pressure in the treatment of rheumatism, scarlet fever, measles, typhus, as well as for the prevention and treatment of vascular damage associated with the use of anticoagulants( dicumarin), salicylates, arsenic compounds, rentgeno- and radiotherapy and radiation sickness.
Doses and duration of treatment are individual and depend on the clinical picture and the results of determining the permeability of capillaries. Simultaneously with the routine, it is recommended to prescribe ascorbic acid( 50 mg each).
In folk medicine apply flowers, leaves and sifted through a fine sieve flour.
A decoction of flowers( 10 g per 200 ml) is drunk as tea without a dosage when coughing. Many recommend drinking this tea and with sclerosis of blood vessels with increased blood pressure, tea is sometimes added herb grass as a means of calming the nervous system and lowering blood pressure. Dry buckwheat flour, sifted through a sieve, is recommended as a baby powder. Purified fruits( buckwheat) due to the content of iron, calcium, phosphorus, citric and malic acids, as well as vitamins B, B2 and proteins, easily digested by the body, are a valuable dietary product.
Application
30-40 g insist in 1 liter of boiling water, take 1/2 cup 3-4 times a day( expectorant).
