Distillation - freesia - Freesia
Refers to the family of iris. A small bulbous plant with xiphid leaves and white, funnel-shaped flowers with the smell of a lily of the valley.
For early flowering( December-January), only early varieties are available. To have a blooming freesia by the New Year, the bulb must be planted in October. To freesia blossom all winter, you need to plant her bulbs every two weeks, until February. In a container with a diameter of 15 cm, five to eight bulbs of freesia are planted, depending on their size.
The bottom is covered with broken shards or rough gravel for better drainage of water. On top of the drainage material, you should put a thin layer of marsh moss and add a little charcoal.
After the bulbs are planted, there is no need to keep them in a dark place, as they quickly release roots and start growing. But keep them in a cool room. In a warm room, their floral arrows will be weak and sluggish

When the shoots reach 5 cm in height, several branched branches, for example birches, should be inserted between the bulbs, which will support the falling flowers and freesia leaves. The greens of freesia will close the branches. Freesia has not only an elegant and original shape of the inflorescence: the peduncles are curved almost at right angles, and the flowers stand perpendicularly, like a cock's comb, but in addition it has a remarkable aroma. And the selection work has added to this an equally remarkable coloring of flowers. Adorable shades of yellow, pink and lavender with the transition to red and brown-violet tones made freesia one of the most beautiful bulbous plants, pleasing both for sight and smell.
Freesia blooms after 12 weeks from the day of planting. The soil consists of 2 parts of ordinary garden soil and one part of sand. Bulbs can be planted closely, one next to the other, leaving a small space between them, as well as between the bulbs and the sides of the container. At the end of flowering, the bulbs are gradually dried and then placed for storage.
Freesia multiplies by seeds and children. From sowing to flowering, 6-7 months pass. Seeds come up in 3 decades. Before sowing it is recommended to germinate them. Soil for planting seedlings take greenhouse or compost. Seedlings are planted after the development of the second leaflet. In summer, young plants are first kept in greenhouses, and then outdoors or on a sunny 40 balcony, slightly shaded.
