Angina: symptoms of the course of the disease

Angina is an acute infectious disease. It is characterized by an inflammatory process in the lymphoid formations of the pharynx, especially on the palatine tonsils.

Most often, the causative agent of this disease is streptococcal or staphylococcal infection. In some cases, angina occurs due to adenoviruses or fungal microorganisms.

Transmission routes and symptomatology

In most cases, the infection enters the human body by airborne droplets from the patient when he coughs or sneezes. In addition, infection can occur through poorly washed dishes.

Quite often the angina is caused by microbes that are already on the tonsils. When the immunity is weakened for some reason, these microbes begin the process of active reproduction, which leads to angina.

Among the causes of the disease can be noted general or local hypothermia. For example, the use of cold water in the heat, wet feet in rainy autumn weather or eaten ice cream in the winter.

The beginning of angina is characterized by a sore throat and a sharp increase in body temperature( up to 39-40 ° C).In most cases, the pain in the throat is strong and sharp, but sometimes it can have a temperamental character. Lymph nodes also increase. They can be easily probed under the lower jaw - these actions in some cases cause painful sensations.

Types of angina and their symptoms

The catarrhal form of

is characterized by a sharp onset. In the throat there are sensations of dryness, burning and perspiration. Soon, there is a moderate pain in the throat when swallowed food. The body temperature may rise slightly.

In catarrhal angina, the surface layers of palatine tonsils are affected mainly. Also enlarged lymph nodes, pressure on which causes pain.

Follicular

At the onset of the disease, severe pain occurs in the throat, and body temperature rises sharply( to 38-39 ° C).The patient complains of headache, chills, general weakness, joint and muscle pain, fever - intoxication of the body.

Usually, the lymph nodes are enlarged, there are painful sensations when pressing on them. On palatine tonsils, you can observe swelling, severe reddening and many round formations of yellowish white color.

Lacunar disease

Symptoms of lacunar angina are very similar to the symptoms of the follicular appearance of this disease, only the disease takes place in a more severe form. Tonsils become edematous and get red inflamed color, thus it is possible to notice easily sites with a touch of yellowish-white color.

Symptoms of the herpes form

Herpetic angina most often occurs not in adults, but in children. This type of angina is very contagious and has an acute onset of the disease.

Initially, there is a sore throat when swallowing food, body temperature rises( to 38-40 ° C).There is a process of general intoxication of the body, and diarrhea and vomiting are also possible.

On tonsils can be seen reddish bubbles of small size, which after a while start to burst and dissolve.

Phlegmonous

This type of sore throat is not very common. This disease can be distinguished by purulent melting of the tonsil( usually only one tonsil is affected).

Yazvenno-film angina

With this type of angina, ulcers form on the surface of one amygdala. Intoxication of the body does not occur. Body temperature may not rise or rise slightly.

Painful sensations during swallowing are almost imperceptible. In most cases on one of the tonsils appear small sores with a grayish coating.

Purulent form of
