Decoupage of a cardboard box from under shoes and wine with their own hands: master class
Decoupage of a cardboard box from under the shoes and wine boxes
In any house, you can find some kind of box into which its inhabitants add up all sorts of useful home stuff. Often this role is performed by an old box from under the shoes, which is stored in the closet, away from prying eyes, because of its unsightly appearance. But if you make a decoupage of a cardboard box from under the shoes, it can easily occupy a prominent place in the living room or bedroom.
In this article you will learn how to make decoupage of a shoebox: a master class with step-by-step instructions, photos and videos will help you in this.
Master class for decoupling the shoebox
For decoupage we will need the following materials:
- shoe box
- napkins for decoupage
- cardboard white
- glue PVA
- glue Moment crystal
- glue pencil
- brush
- file
- sponge
- adhesive tape paint
- acrylic paint( in ourcase - gold, white matte)
- acrylic lacquer
Instruction on decoupage of the box:
1. First we prepare the box for decoupage. First of all, all the joints and folds are pasted with paint tape. Then cover the entire box( inside and outside) with PVA glue. After it dries, paint with white paint or primer.
2. The next step is to decide what will be the decor of the box. We chose dark green napkins with an openwork pattern.
3. So, our box is dry, now on the size of the bottom and the cover of the box we cut out a piece of white cardboard and paste on it napkins. For this we need a glue pencil and an iron. Separating the top layer of a napkin with a pattern, lightly sprinkle it with water, after which we pass through it with an iron - the napkin will become slightly larger. Using a glue stick, we glue a napkin( it should be slightly larger than the cardboard itself) and again we pass through it with an iron. The edges of the napkins are bent to the wrong side of the cardboard and pasted there. We have a new bottom for the box. In exactly the same way, we make one more bottom - for the lid.
4. With the help of gold paint, which we put on the corners, we mask white, which can be seen if there is a small discrepancy.
5. We paste the napkins onto the rest of the box using a file( this will protect the carton of the box from moisture). To do this, you need to put a napkin on a file that corresponds to it in size. With water and a brush, carefully stretch the napkin. Extra water can be gently blotted with an unnecessary layer of napkin. Then we grease the box with PVA glue and apply a napkin to it, smooth and remove the file. We leave to dry up.
6. After all the details have dried, paste the previously prepared bottoms for the box and cover. Using a sponge with gold paint, lightly tangent movements paint the edges of the box and cover it all with acrylic lacquer - in 2-3 layers. Each layer of varnish should be dried for 30-40 minutes.
Decoupage of the boxes from under the shoe with their own hands ready!
In addition to decapping a cardboard box, you can also make decoupage boxes for wine.
Master class for decoupling the wine box
For decoupage we will use the following materials:
- old wine box
- napkins for decoupage
- glue PVA
- brushes
- crusty compound
- acrylic lacquer
- primer or white acrylic paint
- sandpaper
- acrylic and oil paints
Instructions for decoupling the wine box
1. The first step is the preparation of the box. We need to sand it with sandpaper. Then the cleaned surface is ground or covered with white acrylic paint.
The inner surface of the box can not be primed.
2. Using glue PVA and brushes gently, so that creases do not form, paste the napkins with the motif chosen by you.
3. We paint the background with acrylic paints( white with a bronze dye).Do not try to paint it evenly - "curved" transitions will help create the effect of aging.
4. We put the crakel composition on the outside of the box, and the inner one is simply smeared with the usual varnish. As soon as the cracelure dries up and cracks appear, we need to cover them with a brown paint( fresh oil paint, which is then easily wiped off with a sponge soaked in water). This will emphasize the effect of aging things.
Inside the box, you can also paste napkins, or paint with a background paint.
That's it! We made a decoupage of a box for wine, which will not be a shame to give to relatives, with wine together, of course!
So, today we did a decoupage of a cardboard box with napkins, as well as a decoupage of a wine box. We hope that our master class was useful to you. For clarity, we have prepared a small selection of videos on the topic and offer to read it:
