Who is the leader? Secrets of how to become a leader
Before starting to understand the ways of becoming a leader, we will begin by determining who is a leader, what are his differences from the others and what goal the group leader should pursue. Let's deal with all these issues in detail.
Who is the leader?
Leadership qualities can be called one of the elements on the way of development of a person's personality, as an individual in society. Formation of leadership begins with the fact that a person must be able to control his thoughts that come to mind, emotions that must be controlled and behavior that can form a wrong opinion about our personality.
Here are some definitions of the leader in the society:
- The leader is not the person who manipulates others, but rather motivates them. It is worth noting that the surrounding people are drawn to the leader only by their own will, and not by force. They do this because they feel that they are following a successful person, striving for their goals and naturally having an influence in society. Agree that it is unlikely that anyone will reach out for an unfortunate person who has not achieved anything and has no clear life goals at all.
- Leader is a person who knows how to care for others, to be responsible for them. And this concern must be sincere. The leader knows how to give his energy, feeling that from this he does not lose his strength, but, on the contrary, receives additional energy.
However, we would like to note that, depending on the formation of leaders, it is possible to break into two groups: those who achieved the results themselves( they might not even call him a leader, but he performs all the leadership functions) and those who were appointed leader. The latter are those leaders who have become them due to the influence of authoritative relatives, money or on instructions from "above".Such individuals have nothing to do with true leaders, since they only manipulate people to meet their internal needs and to assert themselves. This artificial situation is felt by others, and they themselves. They are disliked, criticized and in every way trying to wet their reputation in order to stop being humiliated. A leader can become a person without pronounced qualities, just being surrounded by morally weak and inactive people.
"Natural leaders" are people who have achieved their heights with their own efforts, sometimes it cost them great difficulties and trials. What is interesting: as a rule, they do not even strive to become leaders at all. Surrounding people choose them themselves, because such leaders have a well-formed own position and they will not pay attention to the obstacles encountered, because they are difficult to be thrown off the path of life. The leader is confident of his future, which also bribes the surrounding people.
How to become a leader?
To begin with, you need to determine the reason why you want to become a leader. Remember, in order to become it, you have a lot to work on yourself, acquire new skills and knowledge. Only active actions will help achieve the desired result."Laziness" and "Leader" are incompatible concepts. In order to lead, it is necessary to properly organize your plan of action, to be able to support yourself in a positive spirit.
So, let's look at the basic principles that need to be followed:
- If you are in charge of people, then you are able to find a common language with the performers who are entrusted with this or that task. It is important not only to hear the interlocutor, but also to hear what he says, even if you are more experienced and know what and how to do.
- Keep up with the times, look for new ways and methods of carrying out your activities. Take into account the ideas and suggestions of your subordinates, you do not need to be stubborn and insist on your own.
- You need to be able to encourage your team, and in the event of losing, do not blame all the blame on your charges, and take responsibility commensurate with your fault. Having arranged the "analysis of flights", consider the reasons for the failures, note the positive aspects, and also encourage them and inspire faith in success.
- Be prepared to meet mistakes, because from them no one is immune. Do not let go of your hands. Correct all your mistakes and move on. Do not be afraid to give in when solving problems - it's better to take a step back, then to make 2 steps forward.
- In no event shall you reproach yourself for making mistakes. This will give you insecurities, which will then pass to your performers. Nevertheless, you do not have to justify yourself, but you must admit your mistakes and move on: believing in yourself and your team.
