Types of masks
Cream mask is a cosmetic creamy consistency that is intended to moisturize, tone, whiten, heal, soften, purify, heal the skin. Properties are determined by the formula composition of a specific mask. Depending on the intended purpose, the preparation, in addition to the fat phase, includes complexes of plant, animal or mineral bio-additives, which also have a direct cosmetic effect on the skin.
The paraffin mask gives an effect based on the beneficial effect of heated paraffin. The active substances applied to the skin fall into the deeper layers, because the paraffin
creates a heat-insulating film and the skin temperature under the mask is increased. Due to heat and moisture retention, the stratum corneum is softened and pores are opened, helping the healing components to penetrate deeper. The greasy secret liquefies and easily comes to the surface, thereby clearing the pores.
Pasty mask contains many solids( white clay, concrete). After applying the mask, a film is formed on the face, remaining on the skin until the water evaporates. As the water evaporates, the mask hardens. A pasty mask is used to purify the skin and achieve a lifting effect.
The plastic mask is also used to achieve the effect of a brace. Plastic masks are based on natural and synthetic plasticizers: paraffin, resins, pectin and other plant gellants. They are applied, as a rule, in a warmed state. Clay masks based on colloidal clay or some mineral mud are applied in the form of a plastic mass. Preparations with plant coagulants are superimposed in the form of a gelatinous mass, which is retained on the face with the help of bandage or gauze strips. Curing, the mask shrinks in volume and tightens the skin. At the same time, facial muscles straighten, their tension disappears, wrinkles are smoothed out.
Film mask is a cosmetic product based on polyvinyl alcohol. When applied to the skin, the base polymerizes and the mask solidifies with a thick film. Dead cells, sebaceous and horny plugs adhere to the film. The mask is removed together with the scales remaining on it, and the skin acquires a shine and a healthy appearance. Film masks on polyvinyl alcohol are poorly tolerated by dry and sensitive skin, however, recently film products with the addition of latex have appeared, which have no contraindications.
