There are several classifications of diabetes mellitus, there are a number of differences between them, but if you do not go into the subtleties of the question, all authors distinguish type 1 diabetes mellitus( insulin-dependent sugardiabetes), type 2 diabetes( non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus), a violation of carbohydrate tolerance( glucose) or the so-called "prediabetes" and diabetes mellitus of pregnant women. All these four conditions are characterized by an increase in fasting blood sugar. They differ in their causes and approaches to treatment.
In diabetes mellitus type 1 and type 2, and with diabetes of pregnant women, western medicine is widely used: hypoglycemic drugs and insulin preparations. As for the violation of tolerance to carbohydrates, most often doctors tend to the fact that to achieve normoglycemia( normal blood sugar), enough diet and adequate physical exertion. In diabetes mellitus type 1 and type 2 and diabetes of pregnant women, these conditions must also be observed.
Phytotherapy can be used for all four listed varieties of sugar diabetes. With one caveat: during pregnancy, all drugs, including phytotherapeutic, are taken only for the purpose of the doctor and under his supervision! There should not be any amateur activity here! Some herbs have an aggressive effect on the fetus, can even lead to congenital deformities( teratogenic effect), others affect the hormonal background of the pregnant, others contribute to an increase in the tone of the uterus, which can lead to premature birth, etc.
Objectives of phytotherapy in diabetes:
1. Promotes more effective and persistent reduction of blood sugar.
2. A number of herbs have an insulin-like effect, which increases the effectiveness of therapy by Western means. And in light cases it allows you to replace them.
3. Increases the excretion of sugar from the body by the kidneys due to increased diuresis.
4. Prevents and allows delaying the development of complications of diabetes mellitus, and these are angio- and neuropathies with damage to the eyes, kidneys, heart, brain, vessels and nerves throughout the body.
5. Helps to fight the cause that caused diabetes. For example, with significant damage to the pancreas in acute pancreatitis( with pancreatic necrosis) or with chronic recurrent pancreatitis, there is a significant reduction in the synthesis of the islets of Langerhans( in the pancreas) of insulin. Herbal treatment helps in the recovery of the pancreas.
6. Improves the general condition of the body due to the fact that the herbs contain a large number of trace elements and vitamins.
7. Reduces nervous tension and improves sleep.
8. Enhances immunity.
9. Phytotherapy can be used very quickly and even consistently in the composition of therapeutic nutrition, for example, as phyto-tea.
What herbs and fees are used for diabetes mellitus
The following treatment algorithm is proposed at the PFUR phytotherapy department:
Root:
Roots of aralia 2 parts of
Grass of bacup 2 parts of
Grass of galega 3 parts of
Grass of St. John's wort 2 parts of
Root of deviant peony 1 part
Chamomile flowers 2 parts
Grass horsetail 3 parts
Rose hips 3 parts
Preparation: 2 tablespoons of the collection pour 200 ml of boiled water. Keep in a water bath for 15 minutes, cool for 45 minutes, take ½ cup infusion 3 times a day for 30 minutes before eating. Duration of admission 2-5 weeks.
• Diquertin( quercetin) 2 tablets 3 times a day during meals. The course of treatment is 3-4 weeks.
• Leuzea tincture on 40 drops in the morning and in the afternoon before eating.
• Flower pollen for 1 tablespoon( or vinibis) 3 times a day with meals.
The above drugs are taken simultaneously for 1 month during an exacerbation. You can conduct a preventive course of treatment 2 times a year.
Traditional medicine for diabetes:
• 4 tablespoons of nettle roots to boil for half an hour in 1 liter of water. Drink instead of water.
• 20 grams of crushed roots of silver tartar and 10 g of walnut leaves pour 0.25 l of water and red wine, insist 12 hours, boil for 15 minutes. Drink 1-2 tablespoons every 30-60 minutes.
The above fees can be taken( choose one from the collection, you can alternate) also with exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis within 1 month and preventive courses for 1 month 2 times a year.
Please note! The course of phytotherapy is selected individually, depending on the tolerance and the expected effect. It is better to choose therapy under the supervision of a doctor, relying on the recommended treatment.
In addition to the above treatment algorithm and individually compiled herbal preparations, the following effects result in the nutrition of the following herbs, fruits and berries:
1. Herbs: elecampane, oregano, nettle, dandelion, plantain, chicory.
2. Berries: lingonberries, blueberries, blueberries, dogrose, viburnum, cranberries, gooseberries, sea buckthorn, currants.
3. Fruit: apricot, persimmon, Jerusalem artichoke.
4. Vegetables: freshly squeezed juices from cucumber, green pepper, tomatoes, cabbage, carrots, green beans. It is also possible to prepare freshly squeezed juice from beets and potatoes. Since these vegetables contain enough starch( carbohydrate), they can be taken only in 1: 1 dilution with water, starting from the minimum dosage( 10 ml of juice), to increase, keeping track of blood sugar level and general condition.
5. Birch sap mixed with broths( to choose from) blueberries, chicory, dog rose, nettle.
6. The "unloading" days will also be useful one or several times a week. Given the possibility of a sharp decrease in blood sugar and the development of hypoglycemia, up to coma, fasting is not recommended, especially without a doctor's supervision! I recommend to my patients not only with diabetes, but even with the goal of so-called "cleansing" the body of "buckwheat" or "rice" days, that is, every day, only drink water and eat buckwheat porridge or boiled white rice, without addingoil. But I really like the sprouted green buckwheat. Method of preparation: green buckwheat( sold in almost all stores in the department of cereals or healthy food) poured a thin layer( preferably in glassware).Cover it with a thin layer of gauze. Pour water( preferably not boiled, I take shungite water). In a day, as soon as sprouts are formed, buckwheat is ready for consumption.
7. Another one of my favorite recipes: take 1 green banana and mix it in a blender to choose from: with berries of sea-buckthorn, raspberry, cherry, blueberry, cowberry or any of the above berries( see item # 2).I usually take in a ratio of 1: 1 or by eye: 1 package of frozen berries and 1-2 bananas. If it is very sour, add a little honey. After using a blender to obtain a homogeneous mass, you can eat in the form of smoothies. And also put in the freezer for 2-3 hours, then eat like ice cream. Bon Appetit!
8. Also, instead of coffee, I recommend drinking chicory. The most effective effect is the freshly ground dried chicory root in the coffee grinder. At one time, 1-2 teaspoons of powder, boiled for 30 minutes.
In case of type 1 diabetes all "experiments" with food and diets are carried out only under the supervision of a doctor, since with this type of diabetes insulin injections are used! !!It is necessary to control several times a day blood sugar, so there was not a sharp decrease in it!
Contraindications for herbal treatment for diabetes mellitus
Phytotherapy is contraindicated if:
1. The patient has an allergic reaction to the components of the dues.
2. The patient has allergic reactions that occur during treatment with phytotherapeutic drugs.
3. As the only therapy for life-threatening conditions, such as:
• instability of blood sugar: a dangerous and life-threatening tendency to reduce blood sugar, it is also dangerous to increase blood sugar. It is necessary to immediately adjust the therapy strictly under the supervision of a doctor!
• Hypo-and hyperglycemic coma! Only call 03! !!
• Complications of diabetes mellitus in the stage of deterioration. This can be a diabetic foot, a sharp decrease in the function of the kidneys, vision, etc.
In diabetes, prescribe phytotherapy at the stage of stabilization of the patient's condition and in the absence of "jumps" of blood sugar!
Phytotherapy can be used, but with caution:
1. For self-treatment. For all types of diabetes, phytotherapy should be selected individually for each patient. Two patients with diabetes mellitus may differ, both the components of the collection, and the dosage and duration of treatment. We are all different and I think that no one will argue with this.
2. When the patient's condition worsens. Only the doctor will be able to tell what the deterioration of this patient is due to and make the necessary decision on the further tactics of treatment. But remember, ask for help from a doctor as soon as possible if the condition worsens!
3. At pregnancy it is necessary to select individual phytotherapy individually depending on the term of pregnancy, concomitant diseases.
4. When breastfeeding is also not recommended to engage in self-selection fees, and contact your doctor, since all herbs are ingested with breast milk into the body of the child.

What effect can it achieve in treatment and why is it so important and traditional treatment prescribed by a physician:
Diabetes of all types, like any other disease, should be treated in a comprehensive manner. The doctor prescribes oral hypoglycemic drugs and / or insulin depending on the blood sugar, the course of the disease, the achievement of blood sugar target numbers, the presence or absence of complications. Diet and phytotherapy should also ideally be selected individually by a specialist. Only in this case can a good effect of treatment be guaranteed.
Postscript: With the new 2015 year!:) In the new year, I wish every patient to find "his" doctor, that is, a specialist whom you trust and with whom you have a dialogue. In any disease, the doctor should assess the patient's condition in a timely manner, and the patient "listen" to himself and help the doctor in the fight against the disease. I believe that there is no illness - a verdict. Each disease draws us to itself and tells us how to change and change our way of life and thoughts, so that the body and we were well! And diabetes most vividly illustrates that our food should not only not harm the body, but also be a medicine!
