Hedges
Live hedges, especially formative, are a living architectural form in the design of the garden, which serves as its decoration and can serve as a fence.
The hedges are very valuable in an environmental sense, as the greenery of the plants emits oxygen, absorbs carbon dioxide, reduces to a large extent the unfavorable air pollution, serves as a natural filter and absorbs dust, restraining it on the leaves, extinguishes wind and noise, acting as a noise-absorbing barrier, creates a psychologically favorable quiet green background around the site, which is very conducive to creating an atmosphere of rest and peace in the garden. The hedges fit organically into the environment, becoming a part of it and a continuation, and create a natural living background for the plants on the site. We must not forget about the practical significance of the hedge, which can become an unassailable impenetrable barrier not only to the outside view, but also to penetrate the site from the outside. Thorny hedges of plants, which have thorns on their stems, will make your house an impregnable fortress. Thus, hedges are quite capable of replacing the fence of any material around the site. The hedges are beautiful, practical, durable and are used both for separating the front part of the plot from the street and for protecting it from all sides from neighboring areas. In addition, the living walls of the bushes can serve as dividing elements of the garden space, natural screens shielding the undesirable details of the garden device, to perform the role of low living enclosures of terraces and recreational areas. Depending on the plants chosen to create a hedge, they are subdivided into
-formed and natural. A typical hedge formed is a strict planned strip of plantations, which must be regularly cut or given a definite shape. A natural, freely growing hedge is usually composed of plants that do not give in to formational haircut, often there are flowering plants that adorably decorate the garden during the flowering period, or plants with decorative foliage. The choice of the shape of a hedge depends on the size and relief of the plot, the overall compositional solution and the owner's preferences. Live hedges, regardless of type, need regular shaping haircut or systematic pruning, which is an indispensable part of the care of plants.Usually hedges are made combined, combining a fence of plants with a gate and a wicket gate made of wood, metal or other material. Height hedges are subdivided into:
low, up to 50 cm high;
medium, height up to 1 m;
high, up to 2 m high.
Low hedges are also called curbs and are used for decorative purposes of the site's decoration. Medium and high hedges serve to create a fence of the site, fencing the territory inside the garden. With their help, for example, you can decorate farm buildings or allocate a place to rest from the general space of the site.
