This group includes persons with immunodeficiency conditions, tuberculosis, oncological diseases, pathologies of the endocrine system, people who regularly visit public baths and saunas, workers in shops with increased air temperature, people with hypo- and beriberi, foot traumas and their excessive sweating( favorable conditionsfor the reproduction of the fungus and the development of infection).

Symptoms of the epidermophytosis of the inguinal

Depending on the location of the pathological process( inguinal folds, feet, nails), the clinical symptoms of the disease acquire certain features.

So, for the epidermophytosis of the inguinal region is characterized by the appearance of rounded lesions with clearly defined boundaries. Pathological foci are represented by rounded hyperemic spots, which tend to merge into larger ones. In the central part of such spots you can notice whitish peeling, and on the periphery - bumps, papules, vesicles with purulent or purulent-hemorrhagic contents.

After the opening of the pustules, erosions form in their place, and later crusts. A burning sensation and intense itching are also an integral part of this pathological process. This form only affects the skin, without hitting the hair.

The epidermophytosis of the feet has several clinical forms: stunaya, squamous-hyperkeratotic, intertriginous, dishydrotic. Each of the forms has its own characteristics:

1. 1) Wiping - is characterized by a weak manifestation of clinical symptoms. At the heart of this form is a slight inflammation, accompanied by skin peeling in the lesion, especially in the interdigital spaces;
   
2. 2) Squamous-hyperkeratotic - characterized by the presence of cyanotic nodules with areas of hyperemia, which are well delimited from healthy skin. In the interdigital spaces there is also abundant peeling. In the center of the lesion, the skin is peeled off, and on the periphery there are vesicles with purulent contents;
   
3. 3) Intertriginous - pathological process occurs in 3-5 interdigital spaces. It is characterized by the rapid transformation of hyperemic spots into wet ulcers and deep cracks;
   
4. 4) Dyshidrotic - as this form progresses, previously unchanged skin becomes edematous and hyperemic. Emerging vesicles tend to merge, forming large cavities with several chambers, after the opening of which there are damp, permanently non-healing erosions.

As for the pathological process localized on the nails, the main clinical symptomatology is the appearance of yellow spots and streaks on the nail surface, which, as the disease progresses and progresses, increases in size. Over time, the nail plate becomes thin, brittle and detached from the nail bed. Most lesions can be seen on 1 and 5 fingers.

Diagnosis of the pathological process

For the diagnosis of epidermophytia specific methods of research are used, among them:

1. 1) Microscopic examination of skin flakes or pieces of nails taken from the lesion( under the microscope, you can see the characteristic short branching filaments of the mycelium of the fungus, as well as the round shape of the spore of a specific species - in the form of bound bananas);
   
2. 2) Culture: cultivation of the fungus on the Saburo nutrient medium. Used to diagnose epidermophytosis of skin folds.

Treatment of inguinal epidermophytia

In women and men, the basis for the treatment of epidermophytosis is the use of antifungal pharmaceuticals.

For local treatment of the skin, such agents as ketoconazole, terbinafine, clotrimazole are used. With the purpose of removing active inflammation and itching, the use of glucocorticoid ointments and gels( Gyioxysone), as well as antihistamines( Suprastin, Tavegil) and antibacterial agents( in case of secondary infection) is indicated.

Prevention of the disease
