The tonsils were removed, but now I'm lying again with the temperature
Karina asks:
Hello! To me last summer in July have removed tonsils because of that I had constantly a follicular quinsy. But now I'm lying again with the temperature, my lymph nodes are enlarged and painful, red and swollen with blisters of small pale pink nasopharynx. I think that the tonsillitis is again follicular, but as, there are no tonsils. At this point everything is swollen, and there are 2 points of white plaque.
Answer:
Karina, angina is an inflammation of the tonsils. If you have them removed, this is not angina, but, most likely, pharyngitis - a disease that is characterized by inflammation of the pharyngeal mucosa. Blisters and spots with a white touch - inflamed lymphoid granules. You must understand that the final diagnosis can only be made by a doctor, as described, you can simply assume pharyngitis.
Tonsils perform a special function - they serve as a kind of barrier and protect the body from infection. If a person often suffers from tonsillitis( tonsillitis), tonsils must be removed, as they become the focus of infection. Now the infection, getting into the body, does not meet on the way of the barrier, and goes directly to the bronchi, causing bronchitis or the same pharyngitis, lymphadenitis( inflammation of the lymph nodes) and other diseases. Therefore, modern medicine tries to treat and preserve tonsils as much as possible, or to remove them partially. Only in severe cases, the glands are removed completely.
Most often after removal, when together with tonsils the focus of infection disappears, a person begins to suffer less often from colds or ceases to hurt at all. But in adverse situations( hypothermia, decreased immunity, during an epidemic, etc.), the infection penetrates the body and causes the disease. Prevention in such cases can serve as hardening, elimination of situations with hypothermia, healthy eating. In the spring it is desirable to take a multivitamin complex, in the summer heal.
The fact that you did not have a sore throat after an operation for a whole year is very good. And now it's better to contact the otolaryngologist to stop the disease and get a good course of treatment.
