Windows 8 on the PC overview

    Metro

So, the first thing we see is the new interface "Metro", which is no longer Metro, but this name has become so popular with users since the beta versions of the system that even its renaming did not affect it in any way. What can I say good or bad about Metro? This question can be answered only when you yourself put Windows 8 and, as they say, you will probe it. In my opinion, Metro - this is a completely useless thing, exclusively on the "non-tensor" desktop. Scrolling the window, dragging the slider down or scrolling the mouse scroll - it's not nearly as fun as a finger on the touch screen. As for the content of Metro, then it is installed so-called widgets or informers, the presence of which, personally to me as a user who knows how to use the browser, where all services are handy in bookmarks, it is completely unnecessary.

In general, Metro is designed for "sensory philosophy" but not as a standard desktop, and if the fate that "this is it" has replaced the convenient and familiar for many aksakals since the Windows 95 era button and the Start menu, then comments are superfluous.

Why duplicate two independent systems: standard desktop and Metro!? Well, why!?Do you need a familiar Windows desktop on your tablet or smartphone!? That's exactly what Metro needs on the PC.Another thing if Metro would solve those tasks that can not solve the standard desktop and desktop applications, and it's necessary to go from the desktop to Metro, and after using the application to return to the usual desktop. Why these applications are needed, if I can go to the official site, where I will have full and unlimited functionality of the resource.

Something is too much negative, but it's true - Metro is done inappropriately, or it was simply misused and presented. If we consider Metro itself, we are pleased with the presence of animation, which gives some kind of "liveliness" to the interface to the entire operating system.

    Lateral column

Now let's move on to another innovation from Microsoft - the sidebar settings. To leave this panel you need to move the mouse cursor to the upper right corner. As for the functionality of this panel, in principle, nothing wrong with its availability, I do not see, although some inconvenience it delivers. When you move the cursor so that it closes the window, then this panel automatically leaves, and personally I do not like it when I "pop" something extra when I do not need it. If Microsoft decided to implement this panel, it was necessary to do it either to the right, or to move the window control buttons to the left side.

    Personalization of

And where is Aero!? - This was my second question after the lack of a button and the Start menu. And again, I can not understand the reasons for the lack of Aero( windows transparency) that were introduced in Windows Vista and successfully transferred to Windows 7. Why did it need to be implemented, then to throw halfway!? In the network, I saw quite a lot of interesting conceptual solutions for Aero, and I thought that somewhere to Windows 9 this would give rise to a really beautiful and completely new modern interface that will replace the one already available since 1995.But, alas.

But what replaced Aero?- Ordinary, opaque, windows, but also square. And here at me the second time for 5 minutes of work with a new operating system there was a question - "What for!? ".If you replaced something really interesting, but God with that Aero, but not only that it was removed, and replaced with "the origins of the past."In a word, visualizing Windows 8 me - a user who likes beautiful design elements, it really disappointed. The new design of the buttons "Collapse", "Expand" and "Close" - I just "killed".

    Visual innovations

    Controls
The new controls in the Explorer immediately caught my eye. There are so many of them that I did not even begin to study them at once. The big jump buttons were made small and moved to the side. Maybe all these implementations will be very convenient for someone, but I did not see any benefit from it. Many functions are more convenient for me to do with the right mouse button and with navigation in the side part of the Explorer, and move the cursor upwards is inconvenient.

    "Blue screen of death"
Yes, by the way, I almost forgot."Blue screen of death" - the screen that crashes when the system fails, from the "Palaeolithic" has passed in our days, in a more pleasant and not intimidating appearance. This also pleased me.

    Working with two monitors
In the settings of the taskbar, it was possible to configure it on multiple monitors - a trifle, but nice. But Microsoft did not implement the support of several desktops - which again prevented it!?

    Performance

Contrary to what many people say about the mythical speed of Windows 8, I did not notice it. Yes, it may exist - I will not deny it, but it can only be learned from the tests conducted, and based on the obtained figures to draw such a conclusion.

    Windows 8 advantages and disadvantages

Now let's a little summarize the above and analyze Windows 8 as a whole.

    Windows 8 lacks

Let's start with the origins. The disadvantage, I think the lack of a new file system in Windows 8, which supposedly should have appeared in Windows Vista. To date, NTFS for 20 years of its existence is already morally obsolete, the same Linux that enthusiasts do, and then already during this time they managed to change a few.

To drawbacks, perhaps, I will also include the lack of the ability to select the installation of certain components. For example, why was it impossible to give the user the choice when installing Windows 8: whether to install Metro or not, leave the button and the Start menu or not. Also, it would be possible to leave the possibility to install the Aero theme, why it was removed, because almost everyone liked it.
Despite the fact that I have the final build, there are problems in the operation of the system, and this is a fact. For example, immediately after the launch, a blue screen of death flew out( but a new one, which was even nice to see, will get acquainted - in fact, we'll get to know him in the future), but after the reboot everything seems normal. The second time I somehow did not want to show the video the second monitor, but again I decided to reboot everything. Perhaps this is not essential, but it is there and it can not go anywhere.

Well, the last drawback, in my opinion, is the lack of any useful innovations. Useful for me, as for a user with many years of experience - absolutely nothing.

    Windows 8 advantages

To be honest, I really do not know what to write here, and I write because I have to write something. Perhaps in my review there are no warm words towards Windows 8, but I'm really disappointed in this system and I understand that there will be no radically new and useful one, Microsoft has begun to scatter over trifles, and is moving away from the decentralization of its systems to various devices for centralization, which is very stupid.
Still to the benefits I'll take the visual innovations that helped refresh the 7-ku. But, probably, here it is necessary to say the main thing, despite all this, I, perhaps, will stay on Windows 8.

Is it worth installing Windows 8

Installing Windows 8 in principle is worth, at least just to see what it is like. To use it as a basic system, at least to this day, I would not recommend it.

Everything that could be implemented in Windows 7 Service Pack 2 - decided to do in Windows 8. Of course, the service pack is a thankless task, because it's free, but for a new OS you can earn and not just earn, but ensure the existence of the company, fromwhich already begins after the release of Windows 8 with mothball, until the next masterpiece Windows 9( which, by the way, is already in full swing).

Should I upgrade to Windows 8

If you have Windows 7 installed and you are comfortable with it, then it makes no sense to switch to Windows 8.If you are a fan of innovations, in principle you can switch to Windows 8.But only on a home computer.

Those who use their computer in work, and they need a stable and stable operation of the operating system, then Windows 8 is not the best option for this yet. At least wait for the release of Service Pack 1 for Windows 8.

And so, overpay extra 3000 rubles for unnecessary Metro, the lack of a Start button, poor new visual design and the lack of real useful innovations - it makes no sense!

In view of the fact that recently a new operating system from Microsoft - Windows 8 came out, then, of course, everyone is curious to know what is interesting and new includes this operating system and whether it should be installed.
So, when we installed Windows 8, and then,
