Prevention of diseases is a responsible and painstaking business. An important part of prevention is medical examination. It closely adjoins the sanitary and educational work, the main task of which is to improve the sanitary culture of the rural population.

Understanding by each individual the causes and consequences of diseases and injuries increases the early treatment for medical care in acute and chronic diseases, excludes cases of self-treatment, allows consciously to take appropriate measures of personal and public prevention.

Sanitary education is a set of educational, educational, agitation and propaganda activities aimed at the formation of a healthy lifestyle, the prevention of diseases, the preservation and promotion of health, the increase of people's ability to work, and the prolongation of their active life.

The Order of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation on health education for medium-sized medical workers provides for a monthly four-hour promotion of a healthy lifestyle at the expense of working hours with planning and reporting on the work done.

In our country methods of mass, group and individual sanitary and educational information are widely used, which can be brought to the population in oral, printed and pictorial forms.

In order to ensure a high level of health, the goal of every medical worker in his work is to be based on a preventive focus.

The objectives of health education include:

• the spread of medical and hygienic knowledge;

• education of sanitary and hygienic skills for the purpose of maintaining and promoting health;

• Improvement of sanitary and hygienic culture.
