Varieties are divided into small- and large-flowered;differ in terms of flowering, the shape and color of the corolla, there are terry forms. A total of 7 groups are identified in the classification.
Group 1. Grandiflora. Height of plants up to 60 cm, sprawling, elongate;flowers up to 9 cm in diameter with wavy edges of petals, late-branched. Varieties: "Astro" - red flowers with white brushstrokes;"Calypso" - bright red with white strokes;"Mariner" - flowers violet-blue, etc.
Group 2. Grandiflora superbissima. Height of plants up to 75 cm, spreading, slightly branched;flowers up to 12 cm in diameter with wavy smooth edges, late-branched. Varieties: "Württemberger" - flowers are velvety, dark crimson-purple, etc.
Group 3. Grandiflora fimbriate. Height of plants up to 60 cm, compact, branched;flowers up to 8 cm in diameter with wavy serrated edges of petals or with fimbriated ones with a bend, late-branched. Varieties: "Golden Anniversary" - flowers crimson with yellow( with brown veins) yawn;"Edelstyle" - flowers are light purple, etc.
Group 4. Grandiflora captivity. Height of plants up to 40 cm, width - up to 65 cm;spreading;flowers up to 10 cm in diameter with wavy, serrated or fringed edges of petals, late-branched. Varieties: "America" - the flowers are crimson;"Nocturne" - the flowers are purple;"Red Bouquet" - red flowers, etc.
Group 5. Multiflora. The height is up to 40 cm, the bush is spreading, strongly branched, the flowers are smaller and numerous( up to 6 cm in diameter), the edges of the petals are slightly wavy. Varieties: "Aztec" - flowers bright red with yellow yawn;"Linda" - pink, etc.
Group 6. Multiflora captivity. Height up to 40 cm, bush spreading, strongly branched, flowers up to 7 cm in diameter, the edges of the petals are fringe or wavy. Varieties: "Kay Dilayt" - the flowers are red;"Honey bunch" - flowers are light pink, etc.
Group 7. Nana compact. The height is up to 45 cm, the bush is compact, branched, flowers up to 6 cm in diameter, the edges are smooth. Varieties: "Velvet Ball" - the flowers are velvety, red;"Marinkefer" - velvety, crimson, etc.
Unpretentious plants.
Humidity requirements: drought-resistant, for a long time it transfers excess moisture, however, with abundant rainfall, flowering can stop.
Requirements for heat and light: quite cold-resistant, warm and light-loving plant.
Requirements for soil: various medium-fertilized soils;in the period of active vegetation, regular fertilizing with mineral fertilizers( every 10 to 20 days) is necessary.
Reproduction: by seeds in seedlings, sowing in boxes in late February - early March, small-flowered varieties can be sown immediately into the open ground. Seedlings grow slowly and are very sensitive to fertilizers and watering.
Features: it is not necessary to allow thickening of landings;the optimal number of plants - up to 10 pieces per 1 m2.
Use: flowerbeds, cottages, curbs.
