Useful and medicinal properties of the lumbago open( sleep-grass meadow)
Perennial herb, flowering early in the spring, before the leaves bloom. Flowers large, broad-colored, light-lilac, slightly drooping at the beginning of flowering, then erect, densely aggravated along with peduncles. The leaves are rounded, triple, with palcharotar segments. Blossoms in April-May.
Grows on dry open slopes, in pine forests. It occurs often.
Another species - the meadow chamber, differs oblong form of leaves, they are double-tristipyperistorassocated into linear lobes;flowers small, narrowly columned, violet, drooping during flowering. Blossoms later - in June, with blossoming leaves. It occurs much less often.
The aerial part of the plant is used for medicinal purposes.
In plants of both species( in fresh grass), there is a substance called ranunculin, which, when dried, is split into protoanemonin and glucose. Protoanemonin is split into anemonin, and the latter, in turn, is anemo-new acid. The plant contains, in addition, tannins, resin and about 0.19-0.75% saponins.
Protoanemonin is a mitotic poison, so use with caution!•
In folk medicine, sleep-grass is considered soothing and hypnotic( hence its name).Decoction of the whole
herb is drunk in small doses for pulmonary tuberculosis, diseases caused by lifting of gravity, gout, rheumatism, neuralgia, migraine, whooping cough, bronchitis, cough, venereal diseases. Decoction of grass is given to women during labor pains to reduce pain and speed birth, as well as with diseases of female genital organs. In children, broth is used for convulsions or infantile spasmophilia. As an analgesic sleep-grass is used externally with articular rheumatic pains, juice from its leaves rubs numb parts of the body, treats burns.
Application of
Decoction: 5 or 10 g per 200 ml;1 tbsp.spoon every 2-3 hours.
Cold infusion: 2 teaspoons of the ground plant are poured into a glass of cold water and left for 24 hours. A strained hood is sipped during the day. Decoction makes lotions for the eyes.
Tincture on vodka is rubbed with rheumatism, joint diseases - 20 g per 200 ml of vodka.
Used in homeopathy.
Fresh herbs are soared in a Russian stove without water, burns are treated with a prominent juice.
