Let's go our boxes!
Features of the game and its educational value. In this game, children learn to control their attention. To comply with its rules, you need to be able not only to keep the goal, but also to switch to new signs, by which items are selected( when choosing items you need to switch to another color).
In the process of playing, children solve the same problem, but in different versions of it and at the same time they test each other. Mutual control complicates the solution of the problem, because the child must not only act himself, but also monitor the actions of the other. In addition, children need submission to the sound signal, on which timely attention switching depends. Thus, the game contributes to the development of voluntary attention and management of their behavior.
This game responds to the addictions of kids to simple, repetitive actions with attractive objects. After playing it with adults, the game can be repeated relatively independently. This will promote the rapprochement of children with each other, their organization and the filling of leisure.
Game material. Miniature objects of four primary colors, several toys of each color. This can be roughly the following items: balls, blocks, bricks, pyramid rings, cardboard circles, miniature flags( from ribbons glued to a match), wooden coils painted in different colors, etc. Items should be of simple shape, severalidentical copies. You can also use clothes for a small doll( handkerchiefs, scarves, etc.).Items must be many, so that each participant in the game can practice switching attention from one color to another.
It is necessary to prepare also five-six boxes from a dense paper( on number of playing). At the bottom of each box, glue a circle of any primary color.
The game requires a tray or a lid from a flat box that can hold a large number of miniature objects. You also need a rattle for the sound signal.
Description of the game and the techniques of its conduct. The game is designed for a small group of children - five to six people.
The teacher invites the kids to sit at a common table and choose for themselves a box in which a set of toys of any one color is placed. One box is taken by the educator, who participates in the game on an equal basis with the children and gives them an illustrative example of the performance of game actions.
Taking out toys in turn and showing them to each other, the caretaker and the children call the color of each toy and put it on a tray that stands in the middle of the table. When the boxes are empty and all the toys are on the tray, the adult draws the attention of the kids to the fact that there is a circle on the bottom of each box that is the same color as the toys that were lying there.
The teacher reads the verses:
On the bottom in the box Look, do not confuse,
The fire is on, Take care,
What toys to take, And what is the color,
He tells us. Put a box in the box!
Helping kids understand the content of the game, the teacher clarifies its rules, emphasizes that the colored circle in each box tells what color the toys should be picked out on a tray and put in their box. The following rule is also explained: take only one toy from the tray.
Then the tutor, shows the children a rattle and lets you listen to how it sounds. The adult warns children that as soon as the rattle sounds, you need to stop( no longer take the toys from the tray), move your box to the right and take the box that was moved to his left. If the rattle continues to ring, this box must also be moved to the right.(As the rattle rattles, the boxes go.) As soon as the rattle is silent, everyone should look in the box that was moved to him, determine what color the circle is in it, take from the tray the same toy and put it in a box.
Children together with the educator repeat the poetic text and with the last of his phrase begin to pick up toys. The game ends when the tray is empty and all toys will be placed in boxes.
Rules of the game.
1. Select and stack items in the box only in the same color as the circle on the bottom of the box.
2. From the tray you can take only one item, compare it with the color of the mug and carefully put it into the box.
3. To start the choice of the subject, it is necessary at the signal, that is, according to the last phrase of the verse text.
4. As soon as the sound of the rattle is heard, the exchange of boxes begins, which travel from one child to another to the sound of a rattle. When the sound stops, the poetic text is pronounced, everyone looks at the mugs at the bottom of the box and begins to choose objects.
Tips for the educator. This game is especially difficult for those kids who are used to permanent care and are not accustomed to independence. At the same time, they are more in need of the shaping influences of this game, which, in addition, helps the educator to identify such children in a timely manner.
Preschoolers with an undeveloped attention for their age are often distracted, quickly lose their goal while performing game actions, interfere with the rest of the children and the educator. These children need individual work.
In such cases it is useful to involve the child in the preparation of material for the game. For example, spread out on the table empty boxes with circles, pay attention to the child's glued circles and suggest calling their colors. After acquainting the child with the text, explain to him the goal of the game actions( selection of objects by the color of the circle).Passing to the child separate objects of different shapes, ask him to call each time their colors and put them in the appropriate boxes. So you can teach the child to select color as the basis for grouping objects. Then instruct him to find the objects for each box by its color. Gradually, step by step the child learns the requirements of the teaching task. Such training will help him to manage his behavior in conditions of joint play with other children.
When playing a game it is very important to help children understand its rules. Therefore, bustle and haste are unacceptable. Do not rush children when doing game activities. When you stop the boxes, remind them of the rules: carefully look at the color of the mug and, if an object of another color accidentally got into the box, put it back on the tray.
In this game, two sound signals play an important organizing role: the poetic text and the sound of the rattle. They mobilize the attention of the child to the beginning of game actions. The children should learn the starting meaning of these signals well: the boxes move in one direction while the rattle sounds, and each child not only gives up his box, but also receives the other from the neighbor. You can choose toys only at the end of the text.
The difficulties of this game are easily overcome if it passes quickly, fun. For children this is a fun game. Especially they like to move boxes to the sound of a rattle and to connect these actions with a living image."Let's go our little boxes!" - the participants of the game say and with interest wait which box will get to everyone.
