Ready-made preparations of passionflowers
The most common ready-made forms of passionflow that can be found in almost any pharmacy are liquid extract, tablets and syrups. They are related to the group of psychotropic drugs of sedative action.
Passiflora liquid extract( Extractum Passiflorae fluidum) is an alcohol extract of a dark brown color with a peculiar aromatic odor and a bitter taste. It is produced in 25 ml glass vials. Keep it in a cool, dark place. The usual dosage is 20-40 drops for oral administration 3 times a day. The course of treatment is 20-30 days.
Tablets prescribe to children from 6 to 10 years - 1 per day, 10 to 14 years - 1 tablet 2 times a day, children from 14 years and adults are recommended to take 3-4 tablets a day. Drink 1/2 cup of clean water( for children in the water you can add 0.5 teaspoons of sugar).
Tablets are usually issued in packs of 60 tablets( one tablet contains 475 mg of Passiflora incarnata extract).
In the UK, a well-known Novo-Passit preparation is produced in 100 ml vials. Its complex composition includes extracts of hawthorn, hops, St. John's wort, melissa, passionflower, elderberry and valerian. Accept "Novo-Passit" inside as a sedative;it can be used undiluted or added to drinks. If there are digestive disorders, then it is recommended to take 5 ml( 1 teaspoon) 3 times a day during meals;if necessary, single dose can be increased to 10 ml. If there are undesirable symptoms( sluggishness, excessive drowsiness, etc.), the dose of a single dose should be reduced - 2.5 ml in the morning and in the afternoon and 5 ml at night. You can use before the alleged emotional load - for 20-30 minutes before the exciting event to take just 5-10 ml of the drug.
The preparation Unisin ( so-called "herbal tablets for a good sleep") is manufactured in Finland
is available in packs of 90 pieces. As in the previous tool, the healing power of passionflower is combined in these pills with the sedative properties of other medicinal "psychotherapists"."Unisin" contains, in addition to the extract of passion fruit, an extract of cones of hops and lemon balm, and also calcium and magnesium.
Unisin will help with sleep disorders, anxiety, depressive states, increased fatigue. Relaxes muscles, eliminates excessive stress and helps to fall asleep quickly. Take usually 2 tablets in the evening before bedtime.
