Tips for repairing and storing sports equipment
The children's ski sticks can grow with the growth of a child. Become short, the sticks need to saw at a distance of 15 cm below the handle and put on both parts an aluminum tube of a larger diameter. Dense planting is achieved using an insulating tape.
Another tip for skiers: make soft liners for skis for mounting skis. They increase the service life of shoes, and most importantly - exclude the possibility of skipping skiing. In order for the metal to withstand the kinks better, holes must be drilled in the corners between the flap valves. The shoe is fastened to the boot with three screws( Figure 19).
Microporous rubber, pasted on the soles of ski boots, will do without drilling holes for rigid ski mountings. Stickers will give the opportunity to stand on any pair of skis without their preliminary adjustment.
skis can be grinded by an electric iron. On the skis a layer of resin is applied, covered with aluminum foil and ironed with a hot iron. This operation must be done 2-3 times. Impregnation is uniform, and it takes a little time to work.
To protect the rear ends of skis from impacts and dampness during storage and transportation, it is recommended to wrap them with a wide band of porous rubber.
In Fig.20 shows a compact design for storing skis in an apartment. The upper and middle parts of the skis are attached to the wall using wooden bars with pins. The lower ends are held flattened to the floor.
Broken rod, tennis racket can be restored as follows: in both parts drill the holes under the steel core, then the tinned metal tape "bandage" the place of the break, the seam is spayed. After that, take out one broken part, grease it with epoxy glue and set it in place. From the outside, apply a layer of fabric tape impregnated with lacquer( Figure 21).
The bicycle pump is made so that to pump up a tire is a difficult job, which only a strong person can handle. It can be eased with a simple device. From the sheet metal is made a casing, enclosing the pump casing. In its middle part is placed a retainer, which does not allow the pump to rest on the ground. A folding support is installed in the lower part. Such a device allows you to hold the pump with your foot and shake your hands - it is much easier and faster to accelerate( Figure 22).
A segment of a thick rubber tube, tightly placed on the valve of the chamber, allows pumping it with a pump without air leakage between the hose and the valve( Figure 23).
Cyclists often lose protective caps from the camera's valve. Try to get out of the situation with the help of an old-time ballpoint pen. From her body cut off the desired piece and screw on the spool. To facilitate this operation, the plastic can be slightly heated.
Rubber brake pads for sports bicycles have to be constantly adjusted, and in wet weather they can generally fail. Replace rubber with special friction material. It is best to keep the pads carved from the old plastic brake pads rail cars( they are thrown out in large quantities), as well as worn brake lining tractors and trucks.
