    A perennial, insectivorous, herbaceous plant 10-25 cm high. The stem is shortened, with 2-3 floral arrows and rosette, more or less pressed to the ground, round glandularly pubescent leaves. Leaf crustaceate pubescent, long( up to 7 cm).Floral arrows are pubescent, reddish. The flowers are small, white, collected in lopsided apical brushes, bent before bunting, later straightening. Calyx tubular-campanulate, remains with fruits, deeply five-parted. Corolla five-pointed, petals narrowed to the base. Stamens 5, pestle with three dvuhzadelnymi stigmas. Fruit - oblong, smooth capsule, seeds narrow, light brown, fusiform. Blooms in June-August.

    Round-leaved strawberry occurs throughout the European part of Russia( except for the southern regions), in Siberia and the Far East;very rarely in the Caucasus. It grows on sphagnum and peat bogs with a small pine forest, rarely on wet sands.

    Medicinal raw material is the aboveground part of the plant with flowers, collected during flowering. Shelf life is up to 2 years.

    The grass contains naphthoquinones: drozeron and plumba-gin;proteolytic enzyme, anthocyanin pigment, tannin, ascorbic, malic, citric, and other acids.

    Easy broth or infusion on water( for 6 hours): 25 g per 400 ml, with the addition of 4 g of sodium bromide;with whooping cough by 1 tbsp.spoon 3-4 times a day.

    Broth-mixture: sundew grass, plantain leaves, tri-colored violet grass in equal parts, 2 parts of a spoonful of a mixture to brew in a glass of boiling water;when coughing for 1 tbsp.spoon 3-4 times a day.

    Tincture 30%: 10-12 drops 3 times a day. Rosyanka gives good results in whooping cough and convulsive cough on the nerves, with epilepsy. They also use it for tuberculosis, fever, croupous pneumonia, arteriosclerosis.
