Natural garden protection
For a long time there was a persistent tendency to use chemical means of fighting diseases and pests even in small garden plots. Apparently, its origins were originally caused by a historical moment, as the use of chemicals in the fight against diseases and pests reached the greatest extent in the post-war years. At first this direction was considered as exceptionally positive, saving the harvest and facilitating the maintenance of plant health. But then more attention was paid to the quality of the grown plants, and numerous laboratory studies revealed many problems associated with the use of chemicals in plant protection.
In tissues of plants treated with chemical preparations, in soil, water and even in air, a high content of harmful to human health and even poisonous substances was found. This is not surprising, as when spraying chemicals fall to the ground, sediments are washed into groundwater, from there they enter water bodies, and when they are sprayed they stay in the air for a long time. Getting on the surface of plants, chemicals are absorbed into the tissues and not removed from them. These facts are of increasing concern to people in all countries, because they pose a direct threat to their health.
However, the real state of things is such that when industrial mass cultivation of vegetables, fruits, cereals, it is impossible to completely abandon chemical protection at this stage, therefore, work is being done to search for the most gentle chemical preparations that do not pose a threat to human health, and also foruseful insects, birds, animals and possessing the property of disintegrating for a short time under the action of the sun, water and oxygen. But in its own small garden on a limited area of the site it is possible and even necessary to exclude the use of chemical plant protection products. Most plants have sufficient natural resistance to diseases and pest damage, and therefore the main task of the gardener is to strengthen these natural plant forces, restore the rich world of animal and plant interconnections in the garden and thus fight plant diseases and pests using natural resources and potential.
This new ecological direction worldwide is known as of the natural integrated protection of plants, which implies combining preventative and direct methods of protecting plants against diseases and pests. Integrated plant protection includes an extensive set of measures to prevent diseases by strengthening the natural forces of plants, the beneficial effect of many plant species on each other and protecting them by creating a kind of symbiosis, obtaining and using natural preparations from plants against pests and diseases, using beneficial insects, applyingmechanical means of pest control and much more.
Speaking about integrated plant protection, we are referring to naturally natural methods of combating diseases and pests without discussing chemical protection products, which we strongly recommend to refuse at least in a small area of your site. After all, it is in your garden that there is no question of record harvests or special commercial quality of products, it is much more important that the fruits grown by you are ecologically clean, healthy and useful.
