Roses made of polymer clay: a step-by-step master class for making a beautiful flower

Birthdays, anniversaries and weddings - on such days it is customary to give roses as a gift. But, sadly, they wither in a week, and nothing will not remind of the solemn event. But today you can make a bouquet that will please the eye for a very long time. We will be assisted by a master class on modeling roses from polymer clay. Having mastered the basics of sculpting from this unique material, you can make flowers that are not found in nature, and each such bouquet will be individual and unrepeatable.

    Required inventory and materials

First of all, we will need:

    • polymer clay( you can choose either conventional, requiring baking or self-hardening),
    • mold( form for leaves and flowers),
    • wire,
    • floristic tape,
    • wet wipes.

    Step-by-step instruction

So, let's proceed to the mc rosa from polymer clay. First, we connect two colors of clay: white and red. We stretch our hands to a homogeneous state. So the material will become pliable and work with it easier. Next, you need to form balls in the amount of 9, 12 or 15 pieces. These are the future petals. Since this clay dries quickly, we cover our workpieces with moist napkins to prevent the appearance of cracks. Of the finished balls do droplets.

Then roll out on the palm of your thumb, making them as thin as possible. So we will give the buds lightness and naturalness. The middle of the flower is dense, for this we fold the first petal with a tight spiral. Next, we apply the rest on a circle, overlap. Do not forget to slightly bend out the edges of the petals.

By analogy we mold the rest of the roses from polymer clay, the photo below:

Now we'll blend the leaves for our bouquet. We green the clay and form droplets. Then roll it out on a mold( a sheet-shaped stencil).

That's all we need ready blanks.

Collecting the product in the bouquet

When our buds and leaves have hardened( if it's self-hardening clay), take the wire, dip one end in the PVA glue and plant the rose.

By analogy we also attach the leaves.

Each copper wire must be draped with floral tape. It is better to take the color green. Then we connect our billets into a single bouquet and also wrap our improvised "stems" with a ribbon.

So we will seal our design and make the bouquet more stable.

You can put such a bouquet in a vase decorated with ribbons and bows, or a glass bottle, having previously worked with it in the technique of "decoupage."

If you already know the polymer clay, and you feel more experienced master, then you will be on the shoulder with roses, the technique of performing which requires a certain skill. For their implementation, clay must be rolled into a thin layer by pre-lubricating the working surface with petroleum jelly. Next, cut the workpiece with a smaller mold.

Then roll out the edges of the petals with a roller very thin. Lubricate the middle with glue and start bending them to the middle, overlapping, according to the principle: the middle of the flower is more tight and dense. Then the second layer of the future rose( diameter average). We do the same. And in conclusion a mold of a larger diameter, the scheme is similar.
