Jute filigree: a description of the features of the technique and a step-by-step master painting class

Features of this technique

In ancient times, the jewelery filigree meant the process of threading of precious metal threads and thus forming fine fine work items. But this process is quite labor-intensive and now only masters of jewelry business can do it. Jute filigree is a modern art form, but the technique is also to twist the flexible threads into curls, to form various drawings of them.

Materials

Jute filigree does not require any special expensive tools and materials, they are all very accessible to any person. It is used mainly to create various decorative objects of the interior, embodying a variety of design ideas.

The main material is the jute cord. Agree, it is not difficult to acquire a reel. If the idea involves working in color, then it can be painted in a variety of colors with acrylic paints. In addition, you will also need tweezers, thin needle, transparent glue "Titan" or similar, awl, scissors. If you are a beginner, then you will need stencils of patterns. It is possible to use additional materials, depending on the work.

How is the work performed?

First of all, start working with pattern selection. Let it be the most uncomplicated drawings, but clearly drawn. To do this, you can make a sketch yourself or use it already ready. Next, this picture is placed in a transparent polyethylene file.

Next, along the entire contour of the sketch neatly applied glue, and over it the jute cord is peeled. But many masters do not apply glue to the sketch, but directly to the jute, which is carefully knitted with tweezers and laid on the glue base. The fine thread is straightened according to the drawing. Thus they work on the entire field.

After completing the sketch, the job requires drying. To do this, it is placed under a press and allowed to dry for about 6 hours. After this, using a knife, it is carefully separated and varnished. Finished work can consist of several parts, which are then combined. Also in many microns the jute filigree also consists of other decorative elements: beads, rhinestone, various others, which are also fixed in a sketch for glue.

Materials for work:

• coil of jute thread;
• glue "Titan" or other non-toxic adhesive;
• a sheet in the box;
• scissors;
• tweezers;
• stationery knife;
• polyethylene file.

First of all, draw a sketch, place it under polyethylene.

Place where we lay the cord, carefully glue with glue.

First lay out the largest element of the pen, and we will already attach the rest to it.

Clay again we smear the place under the element, make a loop and attach it to the main "stalk".

After the work is laid out, place it under the press. For this you can take a board and put something heavy on top. We are waiting for full drying of the work( about 6 hours), carefully remove it from polyethylene and remove the untidy surpluses of glue. The work is ready!

You can also decorate these feathers with rhinestones or beads, used for larger scale work.
