How to collect the tests correctly
Quite often pediatricians prescribe directions for blood, urine and feces. In some cases, these analyzes help to establish a diagnosis, and in others - to make sure that the baby is healthy.
In order for the results of analyzes to be as reliable as possible, it is very important to collect the material correctly. When a child needs to take a blood test, you need to follow the doctor's instructions clearly - some blood tests suggest taking the material on an empty stomach. The material for urine and feces analysis you have to collect yourself. It is important to do this according to all the rules.
Rules for the collection of urine
For general clinical analysis of urine, you should use "morning" urine, which is collected during the night in the bladder. This makes it possible to consider the parameters under study as objective.
Prepare a clean container-a glass jar or a special urine collection container purchased from a pharmacy. Such a container is a wide graduated, semi-transparent glass with a capacity of 125 ml with a tightly screwed cap. The container is sterile, does not require pre-treatment and is fully ready for use.
For cleanliness analysis, wash the child, especially if you have a girl. At the girl with cotton wool, moistened with warm water, gently wash the area between the labia. At the boy during washing slightly shift a cuticle from a head of a sexual member. After that, proceed to collect urine.
Ideally, urine is collected in the middle of urination. To do this, they let it flow out a little into the pot( or toilet bowl), and only after that a clean jar is put under the jet.

Some parents prefer to use a special children's mocheskornik. It is an elongated oval sachet, with an adhesive strip on the upper edge of it. The packet is glued to the organ and holds until the moment the child pushes. Then you carefully peel off the sachet and pour the contents into the jar. This is very convenient, and the analysis is going to be clean. Children's urticaria are sold in pharmacies.
If you were unable to collect the urine in a clean container, then postpone the test for analysis the next morning. Take urine from the pot should not be. The lab technician can give an erroneous conclusion.
The jar with urine should be taken to the laboratory immediately after collection. Do not store it for more than 2 hours. Due to prolonged storage of urine, the result of the study may change. Rules for collecting stool for laboratory research

Prepare a clean container before collecting the stool. It can be a small glass jar with a lid. For the purity of the result of the analysis, wash it well and cover with boiling water. You can buy in the pharmacy a special plastic jar for collection of feces with the attached spatula on the lid.
Collect the feces from the diaper with a clean spoon. After collection, close the container with a lid and store it in the refrigerator before going to the laboratory( but no more than 3 hours).
Collect feces for examination in the morning. If this is difficult, you can prepare the sample in advance, but not more than 8 hours before submitting the material to the laboratory. In this case, store the sample in the refrigerator, but not in the freezer.
Before collection of feces, perform a thorough toilet of the vulva and the anus of the child. Ideally, before taking the feces, the kid should urinate in the toilet bowl or pot.
Exercises for examination should be "clean", that is, not contaminated with urine. Feces should be collected in the amount of approximately 2 tablespoons.
2-3 days before the study, it is not recommended to put the enema to the child, and also to give medicinal substances: laxatives, activated charcoal, iron, copper, bismuth preparations and use rectal suppositories on a fat basis.
