Sooner or later, but any master thinks about creating a papier mache doll. And then a lot of questions arise. If the technique of preparing the mixture itself is known, then where do you start? Of what to do the head, arms, legs and body? How to avoid annoying missteps? How to paint a doll? But technology is not very difficult, but often this is confusing. In our microscope, today we will analyze in order all the stages of making an author's papier-mache doll.

Making the body of the toy

First of all, when you start working on a doll, you need to form an idea. It is not necessary that it was fully implemented, but still make a couple of sketches at least to ensure that in time the details are not erased from memory.

Our doll is a wireframe. The skeleton product is much easier to make than a papier mache pivoted doll, while not much inferior to it in flexibility.

Of strong, better steel wire, we twist the skeleton, the skeleton of the doll, making an increase of 8 cm to the length of the neck and 5 cm to the length of the hands without brushes. On the skeleton we mark the location of the joints, elbows and knees, from plasticine we make a blank for the head.

We glue the workpiece, making at least 5 layers. Each layer must be dried.

In the same scheme, we make all the parts that the dolls will have solid, in this case they are legs to the knees. You can also make a hand, and you can use other techniques.

Prepare for work fine sandpaper, ready already parts of the body: gently cut with a clerical knife superfluous foot paper, cut the head and get clay. The head is then glued and dried.

Grind the details of our doll, tightly pressing sandpaper. In the end, they should become smooth.

We prepare various modeling tools for work: stacks for plasticine, toothpicks and anything that can be useful in this. Also need to stock up on the paste and soft toilet paper. In the photo everything is arranged in order, but you can arrange it as you like.

We blend mass for molding from paste and toilet paper. They form its superciliary arches, cheeks, lips and other facial features.

We get a relief head, which should be pasted with thin newspaper stripes. Also dry and polish.

We proceed to the formation of a "soft" part of the body. We use for this purpose any fillers. Wadding, and sintepon, and batting will do, all that will be at hand.

The wire frame is wrapped around the filler, and the threads are fixed.

For the palm and fingers, cut a thick copper wire. We make a small allowance.

The wire cuts should now be sewn with a thin cloth and put in the palm of your hand.

Remember, at the stage of skeleton formation we left the allowance in the palm of your hand? So now with his help screw the collected in the palm of the wire to his hands.

We prepare the fabric, which we will coat the filler to smooth out the relief. This doll uses a filter.

We sew the body of the doll with pieces of cloth.

Thin cloth we sew "on a clean" part of the body of the doll, which will be visible from under the fabric. It's hips, shoulders, neck and hands.

Painting and clothes of the doll

We ground the parts of the body of the toy with acrylic paints, preparing them for the painting.

We prepare fabrics, beads and various accessories for clothes.

If the dress should be non-removable, then its elements are sewn layer by layer.

Sleeves and a bodice of a dress are sewed in the same way.

From the pieces of fur and taffeta, you can add an image of a boa and a clutch.

Now you can start painting. Of course, this can be done before, but it's easier to make a good make-up, focusing on the color range of the dress. For painting we use acrylic and tempera paints.

Draw the eyes of a doll, lips and make the cheeks more comfortable with thin brushes to make the work look neat.

Just paint your legs. The details are dried and covered with matt acrylic lacquer to give the paint additional durability.

On the shiny parts of the face - eyes, lips - apply a transparent nail polish.

Put the doll's legs in stockings.

We'll make hair from the pieces of satin ribbon.

We take a segment equal to the length of the hair and spread it, not reaching the edge about 5 mm. We paste the hair behind it next to it.

For eyelash dolls you can use the usual overhead, human eyelashes. If you want a more natural look, you can buy special eyelashes for dolls, which are sold in the form of ribbons.

False eyelashes are cut in two and glued to the upper eyelid of the doll.
