Yoga and Arthritis
This discovery was made by scientists from the Johns Hopkins University. In their opinion, to cope with arthritis will help metered physical exertion, similar to those that the body experiences during yoga. In the exercises of yoga not only physical activities are concentrated, but also mental and spiritual practice is realized. Well-formed yoga classes can relieve the joint pain in arthritis relatively quickly. Also, this practice implies the restoration of energy, which is lost during this disease, which does not allow a person to fully perform their daily work.
To come to the conclusion that yoga can be effective in arthritis, scientists could after the experiment. It was attended by 75 people who are more than 18 years old. At the same time, they all had a different degree of arthritis. Among the types of this disease, participants most often had osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. All subjects were divided into two groups. The participants of the first group continued to lead a habitual way of life, without changing anything in it. And the subjects of the second group had to attend yoga classes - do this 2 times a week, and do not forget about this practice and at home.
After the experiment was over, it was found that those participants who attended twice a week doing yoga, noted a reduction in pain. At the same time, about 20% of this group were completely sure that it was this practice that helped them cope with the disease and significantly improve their condition. In addition to the disappearance of pain, many noted a burst of energy after the completion of the experiment.
Participants in the first group who do not attend yoga classes and do not change their way of life, did not notice any improvement in their health, and some even complained that there were some worsening in their health.
Simultaneously with this scientist, after the experiment, it was possible to establish that yoga exercises do not have a short-term effect, and the result from them can persist for a long period of time. Participants who completed the yoga course after graduation for a few months had a positive dynamics.
This gives an opportunity to tell the researchers that the drug therapy( in particular, anesthetic), conducted with arthritis, can be replaced by yoga, which will prove to be not only effective, but also safe( due to the lack of negative influence of drugs on the organs).
