How to make a cube of paper or cardboard: diagram, photo and video
In geometry, a cube is a polyhedral figure, each face of which is a square. In this article, the master classes will be presented, each of which will include step-by-step instructions, after which you will understand how to make a cube of paper or paperboard, and how you can perform an interesting craft in the form of a cube-transformer.
A selection of video tutorials for beginners
This article will offer a compilation of videos, each of which will demonstrate the algorithms of action when folding paper cubes.
In addition, the methods of manufacturing the Yoshimoto cube will be presented. This name he received due to the name of the inventor, who modeled it. It is able to transform into other geometric shapes, for example, into a rhombus. It consists of interconnected movable elements, which can be divided, changed and reconnected.
Color paper or thin cardboard
The first master class will present a detailed scheme of folding a cube of colored paper or colored thin cardboard. To work, you need six sheets of colored paper or cardboard, it is desirable that each leaf was of different colors, in which case each face of the cube will turn out to be of different colors, and scissors will also be needed.
In order to make a multi-colored volumetric cube, first of all it is necessary to cut out with scissors from sheets of paper a color six squares with sides eight centimeters. Then each sheet should be bent in half, then again in half, bending the edges to the center. Next, the workpiece must be expanded to indicate the fold lines. Then the top and bottom edges should be bent to the center line, then the workpiece should be turned and wrap one of the corners to the center. Similarly, but the second corner must also be mirrored.
Then, to the central part of the workpiece, the corners should be wrapped as follows: the lower corner should be pulled to the right, and the upper one - to pull to the left. As a result of the implementation of all the above-described actions, you should get a figure in the form of a rectangular rhombus. Then you need to deploy two corners of the workpiece.
Similarly, five more workpieces should be added. After all the blanks are ready, they need to be assembled into a single product, inserting the edges of each workpiece under the edges of the adjacent.
Transformer
In order to perform a cube-transformer, you will need a sheet of cardboard, ruler, pencil, adhesive tape or glue.
First of all, you need to designate on the sheet of cardboard eight sweeps of cubes with sides of three centimeters. Then each scan should be cut and folded into cubes. After the cubes are ready, they must be connected using pieces of scotch tape. The photo below will show where the connection points should be located. Cubes must be glued together on both sides.
The cube can be decorated by pasting on each side of the cube pictures of the same theme. Most often such cubes are used as a calendar, menu or a memorable souvenir, for example, for tourists, pasting a cube with images of the sights of the city.
