Soap
Solid soap is a salt of higher fatty acids( palmitic, stearic and oleic), which, as a result of interaction with water, create an alkaline environment. The property of soap to clean the skin is determined by the ability of the alkali included in its composition, to dissolve the fatty lubricant of the skin, mixed with dust and dirt. It also loosens the stratum corneum of the epidermis, allowing moisture to penetrate inside( but also evaporate more from the surface of the skin) and releases the excretory ducts of the skin glands. After washing with soap, the skin becomes really clean and fresh.
Do not get soaked with soap. Especially it is dangerous for dry, oily, aging and sensitive skin, as well as for the skin of the eyelids. But the body and hands, too, should not be constantly exposed to alkali. Soap - an indispensable product, if you need to eliminate severe pollution. Cosmetologists are unanimous: this remedy is not for permanent use, because it destroys the water-fat barrier of the skin. If you still use it, you should immediately apply a moisturizer to your skin.
Glycerin soap is softer than usual because it contains glycerin, the most well-known moisturizing ingredient. Most often, this soap is transparent or translucent, but exceptions are possible.
Glycerin is composed of fatty acids and water. It improves the penetrating power of creams and lotions and prevents loss of moisture through evaporation. Studies have shown that with air humidity below 65% glycerin sucks water from the lower layers of skin cells and keeps it on the surface instead of taking moisture from the air. Thus, it makes the dry skin even drier.
Cream soap is a gentle soap variant. It is also an alkaline product, but it contains a moisturizing cream that partially compensates for the destructive effect of alkali.
Baby soap has the reputation of the most delicate remedy. In fact, it contains less free I alkali, and besides, producers try to improve its formula, adding various softening components and plant extracts, but this does not change the "alkaline essence" of soap.
Antibacterial soap contains antibiotic triclosan, although, in fact, such an action has any soap. Now soap with triclosan is going through bad times. In America, for example, recently began to restrict the use of this component( in the US, an antibiotic used to be added to any soap, including children's soap). Now there is a reverse transition to naturalness, so even in the antibacterial soap
, only vegetable additives with the same effect began to be used.
Soap without soap is a novelty in the cosmetics market. It looks like an ordinary solid soap, but it does not contain alkali, as a detergent component in this product are high-quality surfactants.
Depending on what supplements contain soap without soap, it can be recommended to people with both oily and dry skin. A classic example of such a product is soap "Dove", although the manufacturers call it cream soap, since it contains about 20% glycerin, the best moisturizer.
