Requirements for the quality of medicinal plants
The quality of medicinal raw materials depends on the effectiveness of dosage forms( tinctures, ointments, decoctions and others).Therefore, it is necessary to strictly adhere to the following rules for the treatment of medicinal raw materials:
1. Medicinal plants purchased in pharmacies or special stores should be in their respective packaging with the name, quantity and expiry date.
2. If the medicinal plants are collected by an amateur, the name and date of collection of the plant must be indicated on the packaging( when stored, it will correspond to the expiration date, indicated on pharmacy packages).
3. In all cases, the label on the package should be retained until the medicinal plant is fully used.
4. Before preparing medicinal products it is necessary to check the integrity of the package and the corresponding inscriptions on it. Do not use medicines on the packaging of which they are not indicated.
5. Do not use medicinal plants with a musty or odorless odor, moldy, rotten, damaged by rodents, and also with impurities of foreign substances.
