Russian programmer decided to have a head transplant operation

This operation is required for a resident of Vladimir, Russian programmer Valery Spiridonov, and a large private investor is ready to allocate money for it. The operation for a head transplant is planned for 2017, it is being held by Sergio Canavero, an Italian neurosurgeon.

Fundraising is planned to be carried out through a fund, which is organized by a doctor. At the same time, the surgeon noted that he had already received several proposals for financing the future operation, so nothing will prevent the implementation of the plans.

The Italian neurosurgeon will have the patient's head transplanted to the donor body. The doctor created a special fund, which collects funds for carrying out such an operation. To perform this surgical intervention, a considerable amount is required and several large investors are ready to invest in such a project. According to Valery Spiridonov, he received several proposals for financing the operation from private investors.

Russian programmer Spiridonov is known on the Internet and therefore, wishing to sponsor this project go first to him. After that, potential investors contact the Italian neurosurgeon.

Currently Sergio Canavero has several offers and has all the possibilities for conducting a risky operation. Funds come to the fund from various sources, but the exact names of investors are not yet called.

At the same time in the world community of transplantologists negatively look at the sounded project. Many experts consider it more PR than real plans for surgical intervention. This operation is considered technically very difficult and almost impossible, therefore part of transplantologists agree that the patient will die on the operating table. Another part of specialists believes that there will be no head transplant and all talk about the forthcoming operation is a simple PR.But there is also a small part of optimistic doctors who agree that even if the transplant is done, the patient's body will remain immobile.

As for the place of the future surgical intervention, it is kept secret. It is possible that a transplant will be performed in Russia, since the patient is a Russian. Next year, a meeting of Valery Spiridonov with the Italian neurosurgeon is planned.
