Strabismus
Any person whose eyes are mowed, or who is familiar with such a person, knows that there are times when the eyes mow less, and quite often look almost completely straight. If, as is usually said, one muscle group was too short and needed a dissection, and the opposite group of muscles was too long and needed resection, then temporary correction of strabismus could never occur. Women with children told me: "When my child is resting, his eyes begin to look straight. When he is very tired, angry or excited, they start mowing. "Not understanding to the end, what is going on, they identified the problem: stress!
You can teach tight, convulsively contracted muscles to relax. Then the eyes will strive for correct alignment, instead of removing it from it. But this is only the first step in solving your problem. The fact is that the eye, which deviated outward or inward for a long time, was used to seeing the peripheral part of the retina instead of fixing the object under consideration with the macula, its center of vision. To keep such eye constantly in the right position, it is necessary to restore the vision with the macula until it becomes stronger than the originally formed vision by the edge of the retina, or, as it is often called, a false macula.
After this, you must learn to combine two images transmitted to the brain by two maculae, so that they merge into the brain in one clear image. If the eye mowed for a long time, then the nerves of its retina may be in a peculiar hibernation or they stop responding to light. Nevertheless, doctors believe that if this happened with a good enough eye, then often it is possible to raise the sight of the unused eye, that is, the eye can be taught to see. Closing the stronger eye, relaxing the unused and stimulating the nerves of his retina with sunlight, many people managed to develop the macula of the diverting eye to such an extent that it acquired the same visual acuity as its stronger partner.
Therefore, you want to get rid of strabismus, you need to go through the following three stages of the program:
1. Relax and release the strained muscles of the eyes so that the eyes can rotate together, being in the correct alignment.
2. Build the vision in its center until it becomes stronger than the vision in the false macula. This should be done even with a stronger eye, as a deviant eye can pull for itself and the other eye.
3. It is necessary to combine the vision of both eyes, that is, the images obtained in the two maculae must be merged, by keeping the same points of the image together at the same time. As soon as the eyes achieve such a fusion, they will no longer be satisfied with any other vision. Merge keeps them constantly straight.
To illustrate the process of developing the power of vision in maculae, I will tell you the story of a small four-year-old Betty. The instructor developed the vision of her weaker eye so much that she could see them ranging from 6 inches to 20 feet. Once the teacher left Betty for 25 feet and, picking up a picture book, asked her: "What's this little girl in her arms, Betty?" She studied the drawing with straight eyes and said: "I do not quite see what's theredrawn, but if I scoop my eye, I can do it. ""No, do not mow the eye," said the teacher. "I'll draw you a little closer to you until your eye can see it."The child realized that in order to see at such a large distance his centers of vision are not so strong, in contrast to the edges of the retina, which she used all her little life.
When the mowing eyes seek a fusion, the sense of nervous relief is simply stunning. As one of my students told me, a lawyer by profession, when he first achieved a merger, it was like a new birth.
How to take the first step-relax the stretched muscles?
A large amount of sunlight falling on closed eyelids will relax the tensed muscles. The eye never after the solarization is drawn to the same extent as before. The sun is the strongest stimulant for weakened or amblyopic retinal nerves. Therefore, daily, give as often as possible to the eyes of the sun. Little by little, but often the sun - this is the rule. After solarization, the stretched muscles relax, and the eyes are ready to make turns. Do all the regular turns. Add the following exercise to them.
TURNS, STANDING THE SUN
You know, your eye is pulled in or out. If, for example, the left eye is squeezing inwards, then stand with your back to the sun, cover the eyes with the palm of your hand and turn your head and elbow around in the direction of the left ear and left shoulder, ie to the left, so that the mowing eye can see a glimpse of the sunSveta. Do these turns rhythmically 10-12 times as often as the solarization of the eyes. If the left eye is squinting outward, wanting to catch a glimpse of the sun, it is necessary to turn in the opposite direction, i.e. towards the nose bridge( to the right).Remember that this exercise is not a physical plan, because you do not have to strain your muscles or consciously pull them. These are rather mild relaxing exercises, whose action is associated with a strong desire of the eyes to see the sun at the end of each turn. Do them gently and rhythmically, not abruptly. Each time the mowing eye peeps a bit further. If there is no sun, then turn your back to the mirror and catch glimpses of your reflection in the mirror. You can also use some bright light source, imagining that it's the sun.
AIRCRAFT TURNS
If you, for example, have the left eye squeezing inside, cover the right eye with a bandage. Stand with your right foot forward. Lean forward and point your left hand to the toe of your right foot, and then point this hand over an imaginary plane high in the sky to your left. The left hand will rotate 180 degrees. Thoughts at the same time you should have such: "Down to the nose and up to the plane."If you say it out loud, you can be sure that you are breathing deeply. For one approach, it is enough to make from 6 to 12 turns.
If your left eye mows outward, you should point with your right hand down to the toe of your left foot and up to the right side of the plane. In other words, control the mowing eye, pointing the hand in the direction in which you want it to turn, and using that hand that is most conveniently indicated. If the right eye needs in the turn, then for the balance push forward the left foot. Knowing the direction in which you want to rotate the mowing eye, select the turns so that it is centered in the desired direction. Tilting forward is an additional help in this process, as it stimulates the blood circulation of the eyes. This is enough to relax the muscles. Now we will stimulate the macula, or the center of vision.
Let's go back to the second stage of vision formation in the weak eye. Put on a stronger eye while walking around your house bandage-first for short periods of time, until vision is only formed, and then for a longer time. Do not wear it until you stop being nervous at the same time. When you remove the bandage, always make a palm and, if possible, do also solarization.
Do all eye-repair exercises using only a weak eye and ensuring that it looks at the angle you want to teach it to use. If, for example, the left eye mows inside, then turn your left shoulder at a right angle to the table with words. If he mows outward, then turn to the table the right shoulder, so that the left eye aspires to look in the opposite direction through the bridge of the nose to see the words on the table. At first, sit pretty close to the table and glide your gaze back and forth a few times under each word or phrase.
And now an exercise that uses reciprocating movements and is designed to stimulate the macula, the center of vision. Make yourself a table R N E.
To complete this exercise, hang this table in good light at a distance of 3-6 feet from yourself, depending on the sight of your weaker eye. Cover the bandage with a stronger eye. Pick up a clean, unclassified card. You know that the upper three letters are the letters R N E. "Write" them in block letters with your eyes on the white card in your hand, using the nose as the leading element. Then, taking a deep breath, look at the table in the distance and in the same way "write" them in block letters several times on it. When the letters become clearer, swing this line from side to side, looking from one white field of the table to the other and letting the letters leave your path so that you will see first white on one side of the table and then white on the other side. As you train, you will have a feeling that they are really moving from side to side. Do palming and solarization after working with each line. Work only with the line that is easy for you, but do not work on it too long. A little, but often - that's your principle.
Another way to develop the nerves of the macula is to teach reading a microscopic font. Take a table entitled "Basic information about vision."Do the entire preparatory part and read with a weak eye this table down as much as you can do without effort, while performing short slow turns with your head. If in each lesson you will achieve such relaxation, what you need, then every day you will read further and further down. When you can see a few words of a microscopic font, it means that you have really become adept at this matter. Gradually you will be able to read all the words of a microscopic font. When you can read this microscopic font with a weak eye, then you can assume that you are ready to unite the two centers of view together.
Let's go back to the third step. In order to unite the two centers of view together without the teacher's help, you need some adaptation. Take out two sticks( dowels) a foot long. Stepping 1 inch from the top of the rods, drill in them along the hole. Through these holes, pass a clothesline 3 feet long. At one end of the rope, make a knot. Attach some weight to the other end. A tin soldier can come up from a set sold in a store. Now hold the stick from the side of the node vertically 3 inches from your nose and the other stick 8 inches before the first. The tin soldier will hang freely at the far end of the rope. He will keep the rope taut. Slowly move the long stick back and forth( then to the nose, then from it), watching the hole that you drilled in the moving stick, pulls the rope into itself when you pull your wand towards you. Quickly blink during this process and do not forget about breathing. Begin pulling the rope, when the rods close enough to each other. Close your eyes and remember what you saw, continuing to move the stick back and forth. Then, with a deep breath, open your eyes and again continue your observation.
Repeat this exercise many times during your workout, before and after doing palmings. If the maculae of each of your eyes are sufficiently stimulated, then one day the stick near your nose will double. Its apex will seem to you split, at first, perhaps only half an inch, but as the merger improves, the size of the splitting will increase until it reaches 2-3 inches. We called these two images "gates".Since I discovered the possibility of using them to improve vision, the results began to grow at twice the speed.
Until a person with strabismus achieves once the vision of the "gate", which is the essence of the training, and will not achieve sustainability in achieving them, until then the merger will not be permanent. Do a palming between each attempt to achieve a "gate".When you can achieve and hold them, go to doing the workout, walking around the room and looking at objects between the nearest posts of the gate. What you see between them will be a single image.
Of course, having an experienced teacher at your fingertips, learning the art of merging is easier, but you can achieve much yourself.
