How to make paper dolls( and clothes)
This is not just for girls. Boys can make moving figures or puppet characters, such as knights and pirates. In addition, you can make dolls that are similar to your family members by sticking their photos on the doll's heads.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
• pencil;
• cardboard;
• tracing paper( optional);
• scissors;
• soft colored pencils or markers;
• trimming colored cardboard or wrapping paper;
• brochures or fashion magazines.
1. Pencil the doll on the cardboard.
2. Maybe your child will want you to make a drawing. But if you can not draw, you can translate the figure from a children's book or a book for coloring, where they are very simple. Choose one so that her clothes do not interfere too much to determine the contours of the body.
3. Transpose the contours of the body to the tracing paper, including facial features, hair, everything except clothes.
4. Put the tracing paper on the cardboard, then, strongly pressing, so that there is an imprint on the card, circle the pattern on the tracing paper. Do not forget the features of the face.
5. Circle the resulting fingerprint with a pencil and cut out the doll with scissors.
6. Draw underwear on the figure. Paint, or let your child do it.
7. To make clothes, just put the doll on the colored cardboard and circle it. You can make pants, shirts, skirts, dresses, shoes, hats, handbags, toys and much more. Use both white and colored paper, draw the patterns yourself or take paper with an already finished pattern, for example, wrapping.
8. If you take advertising brochures or fashion magazines, you can find in them suitable clothes for your doll. You can cut out clothes and out of cloth with a pattern. If you want to keep clothes on the doll, draw "ears" on it before cutting it. Or the child will simply pick up clothes, putting it on the doll.
9. If you want your doll to stand, you must make a base. Before you cut out the figure, draw a semicircle from the calf's legs to the edge of the foot, where the straight line is perpendicular to the figure. When you cut out the doll, cut it in a semicircle, not at her feet. In the center of the base make an incision( crevice).Cut out one more semicircle of the same size as the first. The incision( crevice) is made from above. Insert it into the slot in the bottom of the doll.
10. If it is very difficult for you to draw your own doll, look for a figure in advertisements for underwear or bathing suits. Glue the figure onto the cardboard, cut it out and put it on.
11. Another way is to use the interactive database and take from there templates of paper dolls and their clothes.
