The game is played both in the hall and on open areas. The accepted dimensions of the field are 20X40 m, but in the conditions of the school it can be reduced, keeping the conventional marking( Fig.).

The gate in the hall( 2X3 m) can be replaced with a specially made shield, which has colored squares indicating the most vulnerable spots.

The game involves two teams, consisting of six field players( defenders and attackers) and one goalkeeper. The ball is less volleyball and has a weight of 350-400 g. For beginners, you can use an easier, rubber ball. To participate in competitions, teams must have a different color with the emblem and numbers on T-shirts and shorts.

In the process of two-way play each team seeks to throw the ball into the opponent's goal. The technique of attack consists of catching and transmitting the ball and throws on the goal, without entering the semicircular six-meter line. The technique of defense consists in the ability to intercept the ball, without violating the rules, blocking the attacker, knocking out the ball from him. The goalkeeper can hold the ball with his hands and feet, throw the ball into the game.

All actions with the ball are allowed only with hands. The duration of the game for adults is 60 minutes( men) and 40 minutes( women) with a break between halves of 10 minutes. In children's competitions play three halves: girls 10 + 110 + 15 min, boys 15 + 15 + 20 min. After the first half, a minute break is given, after the second team rest for 10 minutes. Substitutions in the first and second half periods are not allowed( in official competitions of schoolchildren), except for cases when one of the players will be injured. For rudeness, the player can be removed from the field.

In the course of the game for violation of the rules of the ball( running with the ball in his hands), incorrect blocking, loss of the ball that went beyond the field, the ball is given to the opposing team for a throw-in because of the sideline.

In each half the teacher( coach) can take a minute break. If at this time one of the players was serving a two- or five-minute penalty, appointed for intentional rudeness, then the time-out for the time of the fined is not reflected.

When holding competitions between classes or schools( "Swift Ball") for winning the team gets two points, for a draw-one point, for the defeat - zero points.
