Mustard plaster
The mustard is applied to different parts of the body: to the occipital region with strong blood flows to the head( for example, in people with high blood pressure), to the chest in cases of lung diseases( eg, bronchitis, pneumonia), on the lower back( with radiculitis), etc. Irritation with ethereal mustard oil causes a rush of blood to the corresponding place of the skin, a reflex dilatation of the vessels of deeper tissues and internal organs, and also an analgesic effect.
The most commonly used ready-made mustard plasters are bought in a pharmacy. Before using mustard plaster it should be moistened in warm water, and then applied to the skin. Wet the mustard in hot water should not, for in this case the mustard will lose its properties. Children and with increased skin sensitivity in adults between the mustard and skin can put 1-2 layers of soft tissue or paper. A sign of a benign mustard is that the mustard paste keeps well in dry form. The yellow card not odorless, which appears only after wetting.
The most efficient mustard plasters made at home. To prepare mustard platter, take a few spoons( 4-5) mustard flour, mix it with 2-3 tablespoons of warm water( not hot, as the essential oils of mustard that evaporate from hot water evaporate, which have medicinal properties) and thoroughly rub. As the skin becomes red, the patient experiences pain( burning sensation), and in some cases this redness and pain come very soon, in 2-3 minutes, in others in 10-15 minutes. It must be ensured that the yellow card does not cause bubbles. After removing the mustard, the skin is wiped off with warm water or cologne and wiped dry. On the inflamed skin or on the areas where there is a skin disease, it is forbidden to put a mustard plaster.
