What is IMHO?
Computer slang is a relatively new phenomenon, but already firmly established in the environment of advanced Internet users. Here and there on the web: in chats, forums and with personal correspondence - there are mysterious words-abbreviations. For users with experience, this is the usual language of Internet communication, but newcomers such cuts sometimes pose a dead end. One of the most popular in Internet communication is abbreviation IMHO .What is IMHO and where does the "leg" of this reduction grow?
IMHO came to us from the Western Internet, and in the original looks like IMHO - an expression that literally means "in my humble opinion" or "in my honest opinion"( in my humble opinion ).Over time, there were more "fresh" interpretations of this phrase, for example, "in my horrible opinion" - in my terrible opinion.
The term IMHO originally appeared among fans of fiction, later spread throughout the Internet - and recently seeks to break out of the web and offline.
The given expression is used at dialogue in the Network( on forums, in chats, etc.) for the statement of the point of view .This is a kind of synonym for phrases "in my opinion", "my opinion is this", "I believe", "I think that".IMHO is personal opinion of the author , which he expresses, without imposing it on anyone and not claiming for his correctness( reliability).
However, each time to switch the register for changing the language when typing the abbreviation IMHO, the domestic Internet users became lazy - so the IMHO appeared, which immediately acquired new interpretations. The most popular of them is " I Have Opinion, I Want to Sound ".
Also there are more rigid variants : "I Have an Opinion, Horseradish You Will Challenge" and quite an obscene( although what kind of censorship on the Internet?) "I Have Opinion, X. .. y Contest."Has the right to life and variant with a share of humor - "I Have Opinion, Though Mistaken."Less well-known other interpretations of the abbreviation IMHO : "Individual Opinion - Horseradish Refuse" or "Individual Opinion of the Response Master".
Using abbreviations in the Internet lexicon IMHO not only allows faster and more comfortable to communicate ( because it's much faster to type these four letters than to write "my point of view is this. .."), but is a sign of "advancement" of the Web user. But the newcomers in the world of the Internet, the presence of such abbreviations plunges into bewilderment - however, over time, and they are pouring into the jet. Although there are some who refuse to change their vocabulary in principle and continue to use phrases such as "I think that. .." on the Web.
Now you know exactly what IMHO is - do not forget to add this word to the message on the forum or in the chat, if you become an "advanced user"!
