Insulation of the entrance doors
Most modern metal and wooden entrance doors are produced with a high-quality internal insulation, so it is possible that to reduce the thermal conductivity of the door you just need to replace its insulation. The reason for the poor thermal insulation of the door may be not the airtightness of the door frame, in such cases the insulation can not be dispensed with, it is already necessary to carry out overhaul of the entire doorway.
Door padding
Traditionally, under the insulation of the door, it is supposed to perform a set of measures to reduce the thermal conductivity of the door, but all these measures can be divided into separate ways of warming the door, all of which are reduced to reducing its thermal conductivity.
The wooden or metal door can be insulated by means of its external upholstery with a chipboard, a wood-fiber plate, and also with similar wood material. Wood has good thermal insulation properties, therefore, by breaking the door leaf from the outside with wood-based material, the door will be much less able to let warm air flows to the street.
Initially, to trim the door from the outside, it must be measured along the entire outer perimeter, then cut out a plate of a suitable size and make holes in the plate for the door handle, peephole and keyholes. After that, the plate can be mounted on the outside of the door, it should be bolted to the metal door with metal screws, in pre-drilled holes, and the wooden door can be fastened to small nails.
It is possible to reduce the heat loss of the entrance door by the same upholstery of the door leaf with a wood-based plate only from the inside of the room, this way of warming will not disturb the aesthetics and appearance of the door from the outside. According to the thermal insulation values, this method of door insulation is almost inferior to the previous method, but often the door leaf is sheathed both on the outside and inside the room.
First of all, to cover the door from the inside it should be closed, and in this state, a sketch of the doorway must be painted on the door along the contour of the door frame, in other words: outline the door along the perimeter of the box. Then it is also necessary to prepare a solid upholstery sheet, cut out all necessary holes for the door hardware and then mount the plate to the inside of the door.
Very often to insulate the entrance door from the outside instead of wood boards, use dermatine or natural leather, or leatherette, under which the cotton wool, foam rubber or other sealant is initially placed. The installation of these materials practically does not differ from the technologies of the device that insulates the door of the plate, moreover, this way of thermal insulation of the entrance door can also be made both outside and inside the house.
You can also insulate the door by combining the ways of its thermal insulation with soft and hard materials, that is, the door can be initially covered with a plate from the outside and from the inside, and then the sealant and soft lining material should be used on top of the plate. Applying several methods of thermal insulation at the same time, it is important to take into account the dimensions of the entire insulation layer and make sure that it does not interfere with the internal or external side of the door to close.
To reduce the thermal conductivity of the entrance door, it is also possible to insulate the door frame; for this purpose, a sheet of a thick insulation of sliced ribbons or a soft material wrapped in dermatine is usually used. All this technology is reduced to mounting the heat insulation tape on the inside of the door frame to the door junction, so when the door is closed, the slot with the door frame closes the heat-insulation tape.
