Dry felting from wool is significantly different from wet felting. But this technique allows you to create three-dimensional products, in particular, toys, figurines, pupae. A special needle is used here. It pierces the wool many times until a tight, adherent material is obtained.

Master-class: dry felting of wool toys

Here we consider the dry felting of wool, a master class for beginners. For example, we are killing a kitten.

    Required Materials

For the manufacture of a cute kitten, besides wool, you will need:

    1. Needles for felting.
    2. Synthepone for internal filling.
    3. Threads.
    4. For the eyes polymer clay.
    5. Colors acrylic, brush, pastel.
    6. Foam sponge or substrate brush.

    Begin to wag the kitten

    1) From the sintepon, we form the ovoid-forming basis of the cat, using a gypsy needle.

    2) Pre-fluffing the wool, apply it to the base and thick needle, wire or toothpick roll it, sticking as deeply as possible. The wool then extends to the middle of the workpiece, it becomes compacted, and from above it will remain fluffy.

    3) Paws. Dump carefully for the desired density, but from one edge, leave it untreated to attach them in the future to the trunk. For this purpose, the end with loose hair is leaning against the trunk. Add in this place another piece of wool to improve the grip. We give the paws the necessary bends and, holding them with our hands, we fix with a needle.

    4) Muzzle. Under the eyes we add wool and form grooves for the eye sockets, literally failing the coat inwards.

    5) Now make a triangular pad for the spout, and two small balls form the cheeks of the future kitten. They are located just below the spout.

    6) Chin.

    7) For stop paws add a little wool.

    8) We begin "grinding" with needle No. 38.A master class on dry felting of toys provides for a special reception. It consists in the fact that every section, which will no longer be amenable to processing, is pierced many, many times.

    9) It remains to poke the tail. Like the paws, the wool on one side is left unaddressed. Giving a beautiful bend, before you attach the tail to the body, it must be carefully "polished".

    10) At the place where the tail is tied to the trunk, it is necessary to pierce this place many times, while forming the ass.

    11) We make proteins for eyes from polymer clay, dry them, glue them with "Moment".

    12) Clearly remove the "smile" line. A small flagella is attached to the bridge of the nose and forms wrinkles.

    13)

    14) Now dump a small triangle of wool of contrasting color and attach it to the previously prepared flat area.

    15) Make a nostril to the kitten.

    16) On the sponge we dump two pieces of wool for the ears, turning them from time to time.

    17) On the underside we leave a place for stalling, the remaining edges are gently wedged with a needle, placing the ears between the fingers.

    18) Then we attach these ears to the head, we make bends.

    19) We make the final "grinding".Toning the kitten, we paint eyes with acrylic paints. On top, we cover them with varnish.

This little glorious toy kitten will bring a lot of joy to both children and adults.

As can be seen from the above, the technique of dry felting for beginner needlewomen is not difficult, it gives pleasure and brings aesthetic pleasure.
