Basic stitches for hand-stitched

1. Simple stitch.

Make it very simple. It is the base in embroidery by the smooth. Stitches are executed horizontally, vertically, at an angle, parallel or randomly.

2. The stitch consists of stitches of equal length, located one after another. They are used to embroider a contour.

3. The stalk suture is represented by short, even stitches of equal size. He lies down both in a straight line, and along a curve, depending on the pattern. It is suitable for making contours. I also use it to fill in complex elements of the motif.

4. "Forward the needle" is executed from right to left. Stitch sizes should be equal to the distance between them. The wrong side and the front side look the same in this kind of seam.

Simple smooth surface

A simple smooth surface is based on filling the motif with parallel, even stitches. They, most often, will be of different length, depending on the type of ornament. When embroidering, the needle must clearly enter the contour of the pattern. The better this is achieved, the smoother the drawing looks afterwards. During operation, the fabric should be well stretched, otherwise after removing from the hoop in the figure may appear mounds. Transfusion of shades

The effect of the shading of shades is created with a shadowy surface by imposing stitches of different lengths with gaps remaining. The latter, in turn, are filled in the same way, but in a different tone of thread. The transition of 3 shades of the same color creates a sense of transfusion and volume.

Double-sided contoured surface

Double-sided contour smooth surface is used for embroidering the outline of the picture, while inside the elements remain unfilled. The stitches of such a surface can be of different lengths with a slope.

Fan embroidery

The direction of the stitches of different lengths extends from the inner line to the outer one in such a way that a circle or a part thereof is formed, depending on the components of the pattern.

For the first sample of such smoothness, the direction of the stitches is conveniently marked with a marker on the fabric.
