Berezovsky mineral waters are a drinking and balneological resort. Located on the plain, 25 km west of Kharkov, in a beautiful wooded area. The main therapeutic factors are slightly mineralized hydrocarbonate-calcium-magnesium water with organic matter content, used for drinking and externally in the form of baths, as well as peat treatment.

Borjomi is a famous balneological and climatic health resort in Georgia. It is located in the picturesque mountain gorge, at an altitude of 704-806 km above sea level. The resort has several mineral springs with carbonic-sodium bicarbonate-sodium water, used for drinking and baths.

Java is a drinking balneological and climatic resort of South Ossetia, located at an altitude of 1124 m above sea level. The climate is moderately warm. High therapeutic properties are carbonic-hydrocarbonate-chloride-sodium mineral water.

Jermuk is a high mountain resort in Armenia, located in the subtropical zone, at an altitude of 2100 m above sea level, in a picturesque area with large forest areas. The climate is mountainous, with moderately cold winters and cool summers. Water refers to carbonate hydrocarbonate-sodium and is used for drinking treatment and baths.

Druskininkai is a drinking, mud and climate resort of Lithuania. For therapeutic purposes, chloride sodium-calcium water is used.

Essentuki - balneological drinking and mud resort with carbonic hydrocarbonate-chloride-sodium waters. Located in the mountain-steppe region at an altitude of 600-630 meters above sea level. The climate is hot in summer and moderately cold in winter. The mineral waters and mud of Tambukan Lake are used.

Pyatigorsk, Kislovodsk, Zheleznovodsk. These resorts are famous for their sanatoriums and good climatic conditions. In the treatment of patients, mineral waters and radon baths are used. Treatment in the sanatoriums of the Kaminvod group has a beneficial effect on the state of health of patients with diabetes mellitus.

Mirgorod is a drinking balneological and mud resort in the Poltava region. It has mineral sodium chloride water and peat mud.

Truskavets is a bayanological resort of Ukraine, located in the foothills of the Carpathians. There are several mineral springs with high healing properties.

Good conditions for the treatment of diabetes mellitus and concomitant diseases have been created in sanatoriums near Moscow, on the Riga seashore, in gastric sanatoria of local type.

Contraindications for sanatorium treatment are severe forms of diabetes mellitus with severe manifestations of angiopathy and decompensation of the function of the affected organs, as well as with a tendency to ketoacidosis and hypoglycemia. Do not send patients of any severity in the phase of decompensation and ketoacidosis. General contra-indications for sanatorium treatment should be taken into account: mental disorders, epilepsy, impossibility of self-service, acute inflammatory processes, cachexia of any origin, often recurring bleeding of any localization.
