The inguinal epidermophyte ( fungal eczema) is a fungal disease characterized by defeat, mainly large folds of the skin( inguinal, under the mammary glands), when the form is started, the skin of other areas and nails are involved in the process.
The causative agent is Epidemophyton floccosum. Inguinal epidermophytosis is affected only by people, mostly men. The occurrence of the disease is associated with increased sweating, a violation of carbohydrate metabolism, a high ambient temperature, which is why the disease is more common in regions with a warm wet climate, although it is registered in all countries of the world. Infection occurs with direct contact with the patient, but more often through the objects used in the patient( liners, oilcloths, loofahs, underwear, thermometers), if they have not been disinfected, and when the mycosis is localized on the tables - in baths, showers, atWalking without bath slippers.
Symptoms of inguinal epidermophytia
Typical lesion localization is the skin of the folds: inguinal and between the buttocks, under the mammary glands. Manifestations can be on the trunk, limbs, possibly the defeat of the palms, the penis, the scalp. The foci are patches of rounded outlines, clearly delineated from the affected skin, pink in color, with peeling on the surface. When merging with each other, they can form foci, vesicles, pustules, erosions, crusts, scales, sometimes with wetting, which mimics zkemu. Subjectively, itching occurs. An acute process without treatment can acquire a chronic course with exacerbations during the hot season. When the skin is injured, the nails of the feet may be involved in the process.
Prevention of inguinal epidermophytia
To prevent the spread of the disease, it is necessary to combat sweating, correction of metabolic disorders, thorough disinfection of public objects.
Treatment of inguinal epidermophytia
Antifungal agents, antihistamines( claritin, or tavegil, or fexadine, etc.), with an acute process with wetness, wet-drying lotions, for example.with chamomile, antiseptics, for example: fukortsin, after improving the condition-antifungal agents.
