Pustular diseases or pyoderma are a group of infectious inflammatory skin diseases. As follows from the word "infectious", it becomes clear that pyoderma is caused by microorganisms, most often staphylococci and streptococci. On a healthy skin, these bacteria can exist without causing any ailments. But under certain conditions, such as: various micro-traumas and with them dermatoses accompanied by itchy skin( scabies, eczema), skin contamination, decreased immunity, chronic diseases, changes in the composition of sweat and increase in its separation( oily skin), manifest themselves.
Symptoms of pyoderma
This pathology is a group of nosologies, that is, several different diseases. Let's analyze the main ones:
1) Folliculitis is an inflammation of the hair follicles. On the surface of the skin we see pustules and papules( bespolostnoe, protruding above the level of the skin formation).Eruption occurs with slight soreness or itching. If the entire follicle of the hair is affected, then this condition is called sycosis. 3) Hydradenitis - inflammation of the sweat glands, which occurs most often in the armpits, less often in the inguinal folds and the scalp. 4) Impetigo and ecthyma is caused by staphylococci and streptococci. If impetigo is a superficial lesion, characterized by the formation of blisters, then erosions, and subsequently crusts, then ecthima is deeper, with ulcers, with tight crusts to it. Very often we find the "gateway infection" - some kind of skin trauma or traces of scratching, such as for itching dermatoses.
5) Acne is an inflammation of the sebaceous glands. Frequent localization on face and trunk.
