  • Diseases of the cervix - Causes, symptoms and treatment. MF.

The emergence and development of pathological conditions of the vaginal part of the cervix is a complex and lengthy process, many of which have not been sufficiently studied. Most often the cancer process is preceded by pseudo-erosion, ectropion, leukoplakia, cervicitis and other cervical lesions.

Despite the fact that cervical cancer is currently considered a preventable form of pathology, in the structure of gynecological incidence it remains in the first place, although its share in the general population of women has decreased noticeably. At the same time, women under the age of 30 have an increased incidence of cervical cancer. For a number of years it was believed that this age period in terms of reproductive health is the most prosperous. However, this is not entirely true, because sometimes environmental factors have an adverse effect on menstrual and genital function, in addition, the peak of background diseases is noted at this age.

Prevention of cervical cancer is based on the early detection and treatment of background diseases, as precancerous changes and cancer occur against the background of previous pathological changes in the cervix. It should also be noted that the use of only conservative or surgical treatment rarely leads to the desired effect, since relapses occur, which are about 40%.The most frequent relapse of the disease is observed in patients with viral infection of the genital tract, in particular with papillomovirus infection, which manifests itself locally as a condyloma. Simultaneously, with the pathology of the cervix, the frequency of infertility, spontaneous abortion, premature birth, infection of the fetus, complications in childbirth and in the postpartum period increases. In this regard, the problem of treating women with background and precancerous diseases of the cervix remains always relevant. Until now, there are no scientifically developed radical methods of treatment.

It should be remembered that the main principle of treatment for cervical lesions, along with the elimination of the pathological process, should be the therapy of those changes in the body that caused its occurrence and maintain a long course of the disease.
