Honey useful properties
The beneficial effect of honey on the human body is diverse. However, in many respects its effect on physiological processes has not been sufficiently studied. The following is well known:
honey is an excellent high-calorie food product( 100 g of honey give about 350 kcal).Delicious and aromatic in itself, it improves the taste of food;
is well absorbed and digested. Easier to digest in the body than regular sugar, honey is a very valuable dietary product;
has a dual effect on the appetite: strengthens the weakened, inhibits the increased. Doubly acts on the secretory function of the stomach: either increases it, or lowers it depending on the method and conditions of application;
has a normalizing and laxative effect on the intestines with flaccid peristalsis and constipation, especially in combination with wheat bran;
after a number of infectious diseases( dysentery, salmonellosis, etc.) and treatment with appropriate antibiotics in the intestine of the patient, as a rule, the equilibrium between normal and naturally coexisting microflora and a person unfavorable for the organism is disrupted: dysbacteriosis occurs. The use of honey in combination with acidophilus milk and other sour-milk products helps restore the normal state of the intestinal microflora. This normalizing effect of honey can be used in fermenting and putrefactive processes in the intestines, causing excessive gas formation and swelling. Especially effective in dysbiosis is the combination of honey with such drugs as colibacterin, bifikol, bifidum-bacterin, lactobacterin;
fast absorption of honey in the intestines and the intake into the liver provide stimulation of its diverse functions, favorably affects the cardiovascular and nervous systems;
noted an increase in metabolic processes, a tangible increase in muscle capacity and contractile activity of the heart with a regular daily intake of 100-150 g of honey instead of sugar;
antitoxic effect of catalase of honey neutralizing hydrogen peroxide, which is formed in the human body as a result of various adverse factors: bacterial and viral diseases, sudden changes in weather, stressful conditions, overfatigue, etc. Hydrogen peroxide, lingering in liver cells and erythrocytes, violates themlife;according to many scientists, the regular intake of honey contributes not only to well-being and working capacity, but also to the preservation of youth, the prolongation of life;
in different countries honey is traditionally used as an antidote for poisoning with plant, animal and mineral poisons. In folk medicine, a few spoonfuls of honey with cold water or warm tea are used as an antidote for snake bites and rabid dogs, with food poisoning;
natural bee honey also has strong antimicrobial properties, sometimes even stronger than antibiotics. A 9-10% solution of honey kills many microbes after 24-48 hours. The nature of these properties is interpreted in different ways: sugars, organic acids, enzymes - inhibin and glucose oxidase. In honey, there are antibiotics - phytoncides, which inhibit the reproduction of certain pyogenic bacteria, in particular staphylococci and streptococci, as well as some protozoa - causative agents of trichomoniasis. These substances are easily destroyed when storing honey in the sun and when heated. But, in spite of this, pathogens or opportunistic pathogens for humans can survive in honey - the causative agents of foodborne toxic infections - salmonella and protaea;in Egypt, Syria and Ancient Greece the anti-microbial properties of honey were used together with wax when embalming. Only thanks to honey the body of Alexander the Great was preserved for more than 300 years. And in the Egyptian pyramids near the city of Giza in a vessel with honey, a well-preserved body of a baby 800 years old was found;
honey has been successfully used and is currently used for canning various vegetable and animal food products, for example, butter. For this, in a clean glass jar, lubricated internally with honey, the oil is densely packed and the honey layer is poured into 2-3 cm. Under such conditions, the oil can remain up to 6 months even at a temperature of + 20 ° C.Similarly, other food products can be preserved. Ancient Romans preserved honey with roots, flowers, seeds, meat and even rare game, delivered from distant conquered countries. The Arabs still now, in order to protect meat from decay, preserve it in honey;
also revealed a favorable stimulating effect of honey, or rather, its biogenic stimulants, on the overall well-being, mental and physical performance of a person, since honey promotes the expansion of the vessels of the brain and heart, thus improving the activity of the nervous and endocrine systems. This action of honey is enhanced by microelements and biogenic stimulators, activating, according to Academician Filatov, the activity of tissue respiration enzymes and increasing the overall vitality of the body.
In addition, the biological activity of honey is also established, growth substances - bios, or growth factor - are found in it. So, if the cut branches of trees are treated with a solution of honey and then planted in the ground, then they quickly take root. An aqueous solution of honey gives life to the torn branches of jasmine, thuja, maple, boxwood and other plants. Growth substances stimulate the growth of healthy cells in the tissues of humans and animals, and increase their reproduction. The growth of malignant cells they do not cause.
Before using this or that recipe, you need to know about some subtleties when choosing honey.
How to determine if you are buying good quality honey? Ask the seller for a certificate of quality, which is issued by the laboratory. In this certificate, pay attention to the diastase number( this is the enzyme that bees secrete for starch resection).For acacia honey, it can not be less than 7, for spring honey - 13, buckwheat honey has a diastase of order - 24-39.If you are trying to sell hot honey, the number will be much less. Also in the certificate pay attention to humidity. It should not exceed 21%.
You can be offered honey, collected by bees not from flowers, but from sugar syrup. Naturally, such honey can not be called useful.
It is often thought that if honey is sugar it means that it has become old and do not expect any benefit from it. This is not quite true. The fact is that the term for honey is almost unlimited. Known, for example, is the fact that even the honey that was found in the graves of Egyptian pharaohs retained its qualities.
When using honey, you need to know that it loses its healing properties when heated. Already at 50 degrees in a sweet product all useful substances are destroyed - enzymes, vitamins. Therefore, remember before drinking a hot seagull with honey, that it will be useful if the water temperature does not exceed 40 degrees.
Another point to consider when treating honey. Many people consider this product to be low-calorie and use instead of sugar. Of course, as a source of energy, honey is suitable for our body better. But let's compare. In 100 grams of honey - 330 calories. And in 100 grams of sugar - 390. Not such a big difference.
Useful honey effects:
has an alkaline effect when used internally, providing optimal conditions for the antitoxic function of the liver;
bactericidal action against some pyogenic bacteria: staphylococci, streptococci and some of the simplest pathogens of mucosal diseases;
anti-inflammatory and antiallergic effect;
preservative action in relation to various substances of vegetable and animal origin;
the presence of a growth factor that enhances the reproduction of healthy cells;
improvement of well-being;
increased appetite and improved digestion.
The most common methods of medical use:
reception in undiluted form and drinking with warm water, tea, coffee, milk, curdled milk or mixed with other food products;
ingestion in the form of solutions of different concentrations( 10-20%);
ion-galvanization - electrophoresis of 50% solution through the skin from the anode;
administration of solutions of different concentrations through a thin( duodenal) and thick( gastric) probes into the stomach, duodenum and intestine;
inhalation solutions with the help of inhalers or improvised means;
rinse the mouth and nasopharynx with 10-20% 30% solution;
instillation in the eyes and nose of a 30% solution;
syringing and irrigation of the mucous membranes of the vagina with 10-20-30% solution;
imposition of cotton swabs and gauze wetted with liquid honey or its 50% solution;
application of dressings to the wound surface;
lubrication of the skin, nasal mucosa and lips;
reception of honey with medicinal plants, antibiotics for the purpose of strengthening their action, for example, in the treatment of dysentery, etc.
Doses of
When prescribing for treatment, honey needs a strictly individual approach to each patient, selection of the appropriate type of honey and its strict individual dosage( "And sweet honey, but not two spoons in the mouth ") to avoid the adverse effect of a large number of digestible carbohydrates on the autonomic nervous system and the general metabolism.
It is necessary to dwell separately on the therapeutic dose of honey and general indications for its use, since depending on the time of intake, on the temperature of the water in which honey dissolves before use, from the dose, honey can act on the mucosa of the stomach and intestines in different and even opposite ways.
For medical purposes, honey is recommended to be taken mostly dissolved, as only in this form is it easier to penetrate its constituents into the bloodstream, and then into the cells and tissues of the body.
The daily dose for an adult is determined on the average from 80 to 120 g( 200 g for peptic ulcer disease).For children, the daily dose of honey is set from 30 to 60 g. There are instructions for the daily therapeutic dose of honey to be determined from the calculation of 1-2 g of honey per 1 kg of the weight of the patient. An increase in the daily dose in excess of the established dose is harmful, especially with pancreatic diseases, obesity, etc. If honey is taken, especially its maximum doses, other sweets should be excluded from the diet. Like all medicinal products of vegetable origin - honey is referred to natural natural herbal medicines - it is applied 3 times a day on average to 30-60 g. For better orientation, one tablespoon holds about 20-25 g of honey.
The general indication for the use of mediotherapy is usually an unsuccessful or ineffective treatment of diseases by conventional methods, or honey is taken to improve the effectiveness of the complex drug treatment prescribed for this particular disease, that is, taking honey in combination with drugs to enhance their pharmacological action. The well-studied components of honey, bioelements, vitamins, biocatalysts-enzymes, potassium, sodium, calcium, manganese, copper, iron, fructose, phytoncides and other substances contribute to the pharmacological therapeutic effect of honey. But any appointment of honey as a medicine is carried out only by a doctor after interviewing a patient about the tolerability of honey. The application of medical treatment on the initiative of a doctor should be carried out only after obtaining the consent of the patient. Mediotherapy, appointed at the initiative of the patient, does not relieve the doctor of responsibility for the outcome of treatment.
And here are the recipes that our grandfathers and grandmothers were treated with.

Everything is good to mix. This pleasant syrup with pertussis consumed 1 tsp.after meal.
With diseases of the digestive system
Currently, many authors report the effectiveness of honey as a curative and dietary remedy in the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases( honey alone or together with medicines).And in folk medicine, it is not accidental that "honey is the stomach's best friend."
As a rule, gastritis primarily affects the secretory and motor functions of the stomach, decreases( sometimes until completely absent), or the quantity and acidity of the gastric juice increases. Bee honey has a normalizing effect on these functions, including on the inflamed gastric mucosa and appetite: it weakens the appetite, increases it, and brakes it.
In case of chronic gastritis with reduced secretory function and low acidity, usually accompanied by some anemia and exhaustion of patients, honey, better than buckwheat, motley grass, mint, thyme, steppe oregano, is taken 3 times a day for 15-20 minutes before meals, 30-60 g in a glass of boiled cold water, the solution is drunk quickly. In this form, honey excites the motor and secretory functions of the stomach and intestines, promotes the release of gastric juice, and increases its acidity. In addition, honey helps restore appetite and improve digestion in general, which is very important for such patients.
If the honey you are taking is irritating to the gastric mucosa, it should be replaced with another species that is easier to tolerate by the body.
The described technique can be used to treat chronic atrophic gastritis with zero acidity. Here you can take a solution of honey and during meals along with the dishes of the appropriate diet.
With reduced acidity of gastric juice, honey can be taken horseradish or black radish juice in a ratio of 1: 1.Take the mixture for 1 tsp 3 times a day for 20 minutes before meals;it is impossible - with acute nephritis, pancreatitis, cholecystitis, peptic ulcer.
For gastritis with increased secretory function and high acidity, honey should be taken 1-2 hours before meals 3 times a day, preferably 30 grams in breakfast and dinner and 40 grams in lunch in a glass of warm water( drank slowly, with small gullets).Honey in this form is better absorbed, less irritates the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines, quickly relieves pain attacks, promotes liquefaction of mucus, reduces the acidity of gastric juice and improves appetite. It is very effective to use honey with a warm decoction of the corresponding herbs. However, it should be borne in mind that in some people who have an increased acidity of the stomach, honey, eaten on an empty stomach, causes heartburn. To avoid it, honey is best added to porridge, cottage cheese, milk or tea;you can take it with soda or Almagel.
There are recommendations of traditional medicine for chronic gastritis to take honey with aloe. To do this, wash 3-5-year-old aloe vinegar, chop and mix with honey in a ratio of 1: 1 for about 1 tbsp.a spoonful of both, take a mixture of 1 tsp for half an hour before meals 2 times a day with reduced acidity and 45 minutes before meals with high acidity. The course of treatment 2-4 weeks. If necessary, and this is determined by the doctor, the course of treatment can be repeated. It must be remembered that aloe juice is a biogenic stimulant that accelerates the growth of cells, including malignant neoplasms. Therefore, unauthorized, prolonged and messy application of aloe juice is unacceptable. In addition, there are contraindications to its use: high blood pressure, pregnancy, polyps and fibrous formations.
In chronic gastritis with preserved secretory function and normal acidity honey is taken in the same doses as with the above gastritis 3 times a day 45 minutes before meals in a glass of water at room temperature. As a rule, the course of treatment with honey for patients with chronic gastritis is 1-2 months. If necessary and, of course, with the obligatory agreement with the attending physician, the course of treatment can be repeated.
In ancient Russian medical institutions with chronic gastritis with reduced and normal secretion of gastric juice, juice of plantain with honey is recommended: 500 g of honey is mixed with 500 g of plantain juice and cooked on low heat for 20 minutes. Chilled juice is taken before meals on a tablespoon 3 times a day. By the way, this mixture, warm, is also used in the treatment of cough in whooping cough, with acute and chronic bronchitis as an expectorant and emollient.
There are many examples of successful application of honey in folk and modern scientific medicine in the treatment of peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum.
The problem of radical treatment of peptic ulcer is very urgent, as this disease has no tendency to decrease. With a peptic ulcer, honey has a multifaceted effect: low radioactivity, biological stimulants and antimicrobial substances contained in it, stimulate the cell's regenerative capacity, have a wound-healing effect, and reducing the irritation of nerve endings in the mucous membrane of the stomach and duodenum, honey also has some analgesic, envelopingact. All this in a complex and contributes to a faster healing of the ulcer. This is the local action of honey. In addition, honey has a restorative effect, which primarily applies to the nervous system, which plays a big role both in the occurrence and maintenance of the disease.
In case of peptic ulcer, honey( its dose is raised to 200 g), it is recommended to dissolve in a glass of boiled warm water and take 1.5-2 hours before breakfast at a dose of 30 to 60 g, 1.5-2 h before lunch in a dosefrom 40 to 80 g and 2-3 hours after a light supper in a dose of 30-60 g. Patients with peptic ulcer with a decreased secretory function of the stomach and low acidity should take honey for 5-10 minutes before meals.
In a warm form, honey contributes to a quicker relief of pain, the elimination of nausea and heartburn, the normalization of the secretion of gastric juice, and its acidity. The course of treatment with honey - as with gastritis - 1-2 months. As agreed with the doctor, honey can be combined with medicines.
Professor F.K.Menshikov suggests the following scheme of treatment of peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum: a daily dose of honey( 400-600 g) divided into 3 parts, and each part taken 3 times a day on an empty stomach in the preheated form;for this, the vessel with honey before use is placed for 5-10 minutes in hot water with a temperature of no more than 50 ° C.The course of treatment is 15-20 days.
Peptic ulcer is treated also in the old folk way. The essence of it consists in taking 2 tbsp.spoonfuls of liquid honey once a day on an empty stomach, usually late at night, the crystallized honey is dissolved in a water bath. In folk and modern scientific medicine, honey treatment is widely used for liver diseases, hepatitis of various etiologies, including epidemics. As a rule, in these diseases many physiological functions of the liver are violated, primarily a detoxifying, antitoxic function. After all, the liver is a filter through which bacterial and chemical poisons pass.
The above description of honey as a remedy allows us to recommend its use for these diseases. Bactericidal factors of honey - phytoncides and glucose-shock-sidase - suppress putrefactive flora of the intestine, catalase neutralizes the delayed in the liver and harmful to it hydrogen peroxide, fructose ensures the formation of glycogen - the main energy material of the liver;microelements, which are rich in medicinal honey, create optimal conditions for performing the functions of this, according to Pavlov, "vigilant guardian of the organism."
The following facts testify to the importance of microelements for the vital activity of the liver. In the liver of healthy people who died from trauma, 15 trace elements were found. Among them - aluminum, manganese, cobalt, copper, zinc, which are part of tissue respiration enzymes. In the liver of the deceased from severe infections of microelements is not found, the body has exhausted them in the struggle for life.
The complex of the above-mentioned biological substances of honey promotes the activation of all processes occurring in the liver, especially its antitoxic function, including with degenerative changes - cirrhosis.
When medically treating patients with liver diseases, it is mandatory to have a long and strict adherence to the "hepatic" diet No. 5, which is universally accepted in our country, by the diets of the Institute of Nutrition of the RAMS.Honey complements this diet. It is given 3 times a day for 20 g( about 1 tablespoon), along with food
- cereals, vegetables, cottage cheese, curdled milk, etc.
- or before meals as a 10% solution: 1 tbsp.spoon on 1 cup of warm boiled water. Drink a small sip. The course of treatment up to 3 months.and more. Such patients are useful in taking 30 g of honey in combination with flower pollen - 0.8 g and royal jelly - 0.05 g - 2 times a day.
Diet and honey, better than lime, mint, combine to create favorable conditions for restoring the normal state of the liver and prevent the development of cirrhosis. It is absolutely necessary to provide the diet with a large number of essential vitamins: A, B, C, etc. Some researchers consider it useful to improve the detoxifying function of the liver before surgery in the abdominal cavity, with infectious jaundice( epidemic hepatitis), and with a curative and prophylactic goal to take honey in the morningand in the evening for 1 teaspoon in half a glass of apple juice, which with its acidity promotes a greater manifestation of the antimicrobial properties of honey.
There is no research on the use of honey in chronic cholecystitis and pancreatitis, although the reasonableness and necessity of them are obvious. Here, for example, some considerations on the advisability of medical treatment in pancreatitis. In the pancreas tissue, 11 trace elements were found. Among them, such as iodine, cobalt, manganese, copper, zinc. In pancreatitis, many food products, in particular cabbage, beet, legumes, are poorly tolerated. This is due to impoverishment of the body by vital chemical substances. Their deficiency is replenished with trace minerals of honey. But it should be taken only in the absence of contraindications: intolerance, the state of pre-diabetes( sugar in the urine), etc.
In the treatment of diseases of the liver, gall bladder, spleen in folk medicine, the following composition is recommended: a glass of honey and a glass of black radish juice3 times a day for 1/2 cup. The systematic use of honey for these diseases prevents the formation of stones in the gallbladder, improves the processes of tissue metabolism.
At the same time, honey beneficially affects the digestive processes in the intestine.
In cases of intestinal diseases, in particular enteritis and colitis, honey has found limited application, since the bactericidal and anti-inflammatory properties of honey have not produced a positive effect. Honey, passing through the stomach, duodenum and being exposed to digestive juices and enzymes, loses its antimicrobial properties. With direct introduction into the stomach, duodenum and intestine through the honey probe, its solutions of various concentrations in connection with the presence of bactericidal substances in it - phytoncides, glucose oxidase, bend - significantly suppress pathogenic and putrefactive intestinal microflora.
In spastic colitis of nervous origin, accompanied by constipation, honey, best chestnut, mint or with oregano, should be taken up to 3 months.3 times a day in kind or in the form of a dense aqueous solution of 1 tbsp.spoon 2 hours before meals or 3-4 hours after meals, but before that you need to take half a cup of boiled ordinary water with baking soda( half a teaspoon) or half a glass of alkaline mineral water "Essentuki" № 4, 17, "Borjomi" and othersfor some neutralization of acidic gastric juice, which reduces the antimicrobial properties of honey.
To treat inflammatory processes in the lower parts of the colon( recta, proctitis, hemorrhoids, cracks, ulcers and erosions in the rectum) gauze and cotton swabs moistened with liquid honey or in its 50% aqueous solution are used. They put microclysters with honey or ointment of Konkov, which contains mainly honey 34 g and cod liver oil 64 g. 50-100 ml of a 50% aqueous solution of honey is also introduced into the gut through a thick probe.
Due to the large amount of sugars and organic acids, honey has a laxative effect, excites intestinal peristalsis, which is used for its lethargy and constipation. At these conditions it is recommended to take inwards from 60 to 100 grams of honey one-time or divide this dose into 2 doses. Take honey better with apple juice or cold water on an empty stomach or overnight. You can put an enema with honey: 10-100 g of pure honey or its 50% aqueous solution.
The relaxing effect of honey, which plays the role of a chemical factor, is especially enhanced in combination with a decoction of wheat bran, which plays the role of a mechanical factor.2 tbsp. Spoon the bran boil in one glass of water for 5-10 minutes, cool and add 1-2 tbsp.spoons of honey. The mixture should be taken on an empty stomach early in the morning or in the evening before going to sleep. For these purposes, you can recommend in the morning on an empty stomach and in the evening before going to bed a mixture of honey and horseradish juice in a ratio of 1: 1 to 15-20 g.
In cases of intestinal diseases as a light loosening agent for constipation, the following composition is also recommended: 2 tbsp.spoons of honey, 100 g of mashed boiled food beet and 2 tbsp. Spoons of vegetable oil are mixed and divided into 2 parts: one part is taken on an empty stomach, drinking 1/2 cup of cold water, the second part is taken at bedtime, washed down with warm water. This composition also possesses choleretic properties, so it is used for tjubazhi - blind sounding. To do this, the entire mixture is taken immediately, washed down with a glass of alkaline warm water: Essentuki No. 4, Borjomi, Smirnovskaya, Slavyanovskaya, Istisu, Izhevskaya, Sairme, Novoizhevskaya, Berezovskaya, lie down on the right side, after 10-20 minutes they drink another glass of warm mineral water, apply a warm water bottle to the right side and lie for 1 hour. For a course of treatment, 5 such tumbles, after 2-3 months.the course of treatment can be repeated. Tubage is done 1-2 times a week, depending on the condition of the patient.
Good for constipation and a special mixture. To make it, you must take in equal proportions( for example, 100 grams) dried prunes, dried apricots, figs, rinsed, doused with boiling water and passed through a meat grinder. Add 100 g of honey and 5-7 g of Alexandrian leaf( Senna), mix thoroughly, put in a clean glass jar and store in a refrigerator. One tablespoon of the mixture, diluted in half a glass of cold water, is taken daily before bedtime.
It is common knowledge that intestinal diseases: enteritis, colitis and enterocolitis of infectious origin, are usually successfully treated with appropriate antibiotics, sulfanilamide preparations and diet. But often after treatment, due to the fact that antibiotics and sulfonamides kill not only pathogenic microbes, but also normal intestinal microflora, dysbacteriosis arises. And with the disturbance of the vital activity of the normal microflora of the intestine, poisonous, harmful substances are formed.
Restoration of the normal state of the intestinal microflora is usually done by taking colibacterin, lactobacterin, bifikol, bifi-dumbacterin and other bacterial preparations. If you take these drugs with honey( 1 tablespoon), then the normalization of digestion and the composition of the intestinal microflora is much faster. For the same purposes, a combination of honey with acidophilic milk or acidophilic paste( 500-800 g) is also used.
Traditional medicine for spastic constipation recommends a mixture of honey and pumpkin flesh, pumpkin porridge or boiled pumpkin with honey. Honey with pumpkin seeds is also recommended as an anthelmintic.
When treating diseases of the gallbladder and bile ducts, it is recommended to eat fried corn cobs with honey.
Sometimes they ask the question: "Is it possible to eat honey every day?" It is possible. Daily moderate consumption of honey 30-60-100 g instead of sugar and other sweets has a beneficial effect on the stomach and intestines, promotes their normal functioning, acts regulating their motor and secretory functions.
Observations showed that the most pleasant and useful drink was a 7-day honey infusion of the mushroom, which contained 5% honey, 5% sugar and was enriched with vitamins B1 and C. It well regulates the activity of the gastrointestinal tract, suppresses putrefactive and pathogenic microfloraintestines, increases the protective properties of the body. Infusion of tea fungus can be consumed throughout life. It is very useful for children who are recommended to drink it instead of carbonated water and kvass. In diseases of the stomach with high acidity, the infusion of the fungus should be consumed with soda or alkaline mineral water Essentuki No. 4, 17, Borjomi, Slavyanovskaya, Smirnovskaya and others. People suffering from chronic diseases of the intestines, liver and bile ducts,after taking this drink, it is recommended to lie on your right side and lie down for 20 minutes. Take it for at least 2 months under compulsory medical supervision.
In addition to information on the use of honey in the nutrition of an infant, there are indications in the medical literature about the treatment of nutritional disorders in infants and premature infants( dyspepsia, dystrophy), especially "artificial ones", and according to the Institutenutrition of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, has recently increased and reaches about 50% of newborns. In childhood, often due to the lack or lack of enzyme invertase, necessary for the cleavage of complex carbohydrates in the intestine, there are digestive disorders, accompanied by pain( colic).Daily addition instead of sugar 2-3 hours spoons containing this enzyme honey in a mixture of cow or goat milk with a mucous rice decoction facilitates the digestion of milk proteins-caseins, turning them into small flakes;fats and carbohydrates;prevents the appearance of constipation and abnormal putrefaction in the intestines of the child, usually arising from the use of ordinary sugar - sucrose;has analgesic effect.
The advantage of honey in front of other foods, in addition to its rich chemical composition, is that honey is better tolerated by children than sugar, and its high caloric content allows you to introduce a large number of calories in a small amount of food, which is very important for appetite-deprived preterm infants, for which weight gain is vital. In addition, there is an excellent assimilation of the mixtures, the number of red blood cells increases, the disturbed state of the intestinal microflora normally normalizes, digestion occurs without a special strain of the digestive system, so that the food leaves the stomach of the infant in a short time.
The addition of honey, especially buckwheat, to cow's milk or infant formula is indicated with a delay in growth and development, hypochromic anemia( anemia with a deficiency in the blood of iron, and also in the case of vomiting in infants, with constipation, with intestinal infectious diseases.it is recommended to prescribe during the treatment simultaneously with medicines 30-60 g of honey, because it was found that dysentery bacillus dies faster than with treatment with only one medication. The activity of the intestinal microflora(acidic environment), and the sticks die. In cases of constipation in children aged 5-8 years, honey is given by 1 dessert spoon before going to bed in 1/2 cup warm milk.many children often have food allergies, it should be used only after consulting with the children's doctor, because honey for some children, along with eggs, strawberries and chocolate, is an allergen.
With gastric ulcer
Dissolve in a glass of boiled water 2 tsp.honey and drink 2 hours before or 3 hours after eating. Take 3 times a day. The daily dose of honey - no more than 3 tbsp.l.(at this time sweet to exclude).The course of treatment is 1.5-2 months. With increased acidity, taking honey causes heartburn, so take it with cottage cheese or milk. With reduced acidity, take the honey solution 5-10 minutes before eating.
Take 100 g of honey, 0.5 cups of alcohol and juices of radish, beets, carrots. Mix, strain through gauze, insist in a dark cool place for 3 days. Drink to 2-3 tbsp.l.3 times a day. Shake before use. The course of treatment is 5 days.
With gastritis
For gastritis with high acidity, take honey dissolved in cold water 3-4 times a day for 10 minutes before meals. The course of treatment is 1-2 months. The daily dose is 2-3 tbsp.l.honey.
Drink fresh potato juice 1/2 cup 3 times a day, adding 14 tbsp.l.honey, 30 minutes before meals. The course of treatment - 10 days, then repeat.
Dilute 1 tbsp.l.honey in a glass of cold water. Take 10 minutes before meals 3 times a day. It is useful for gastritis with high acidity of gastric juice. The course of treatment is 1-2 months.
