games that develop memory
Memory is a necessary link in all human activities: practical, cognitive, artistic, etc. Without the participation of memory, a child can neither play nor talk or treat objects. However, not all children have an equally well developed memory. Many adults believe that a good or bad memory is given to a child from birth. But this is not so. A child is not born with a ready memory. It develops, like the child himself, under the influence of communication and joint activity with adults. Children with a weak memory are most often those children who were not given the necessary attention by adults and who were taught that they have a bad memory. How can you develop the memory of a child?
The most important condition for this is the child's special efforts to memorize something in order to remember later. Forming children's readiness for such mental efforts, to develop the ability for purposeful, intentional memorization is an important task of the educator. Another no less important task is to give children the means and rational methods that will help them to keep in memory and reproduce the necessary information at the right time.
In the practice of preschool education adults, as a rule, do not manage the development of children's memory, although many of their tasks and requirements are based on the memory of preschool children. Children are given the task of remembering something( which is not always understandable and relevant to them), but methods of remembering are not given. As a result, memorization is reduced to mechanical memorizing( poems, rules, songs, etc.).
Such a memorization is not only unproductive, but also tedious for toddlers. It deprives the material of any meaning and does not develop the child's memory at all.
The games offered in this section contain the necessary conditions that contribute to the development of the child's purposeful memory. These conditions are as follows.
First, in all games, the child has a need for intentional memorization, which encourages him to make certain mental efforts in order to remember and recall the information he needs.
Secondly, in each game, the child receives rational receptions of meaningful remembering and remembering, the means of mastering his memory. These techniques are used by the child as a support in the actual game situation for him and therefore easily mastered by him.
Games in the section are described in order of increasing complexity. Their sequence is dictated by the psychological patterns of memory development of the preschooler.
In the first game( "Trouble") the connection between memorized and remembered objects helps to establish the adult. He directs mental activity of children, directs it and gives necessary support. The plot conflict of the game makes the children's mental efforts meaningful and purposeful.
In the second game( "Who is hiding here?"), Children learn to establish the semantic links between objects independently. This method facilitates the process of remembering and remembering, makes it purposeful and meaningful.
In the third game( "What to get you, my friend?"), A semantic support for memorizing and remembering an object is the selection and playback of its purpose( function). This game not only teaches the child a new important method of sensible memorization, but also helps to expand the amount of memory.
The fourth game( "Mom's assistants") is aimed at developing verbal memory. Memorization of words in it is prompted by a plot situation that is understandable and close to children and is facilitated by the common meaning of the memorized words. In this game, children perform the verbal instruction of an adult, which brings them closer to the solution of the educational task.
In all games the leading and guiding role belongs to the adult. Emotional communication with children is important here, and the teacher's involvement in the game's plot, and a clear, understandable teaching for the children, and a constant activation of the child's mental activity. Only under these conditions, the proposed games will contribute to the development of children's memory.
