Ticks
With the onset of summer, each person begins to think about going on a weekend to the forest, about fishing, about kebabs. But we do not suspect that there are already waiting for us there, which, in principle, it is difficult to see. And the consequences after such meetings can be deplorable. I mean ticks.
A tick is an arthropod animal related to a class of arachnids. In this class this group is the most numerous( about 48 thousand species).Such a number they have achieved due to the fact that in their development they have acquired very small( microscopic) sizes( from 0.2 to 0.4 mm).Rarely, when the mite reaches a length of 3mm. When they master the surface layer of the soil, they eat the remains of plants that have decayed.
To the parasites or vectors of human diseases, there are a small number of species. But not parasitic( species) also cause irritation on the skin. In the warm season, mites can climb to a height of 1.5 - 2 meters, waiting there for their "sacrifice".After getting this arthropod to the open area of the body, they "cling" to our skin with their clawlike or piercing-cutting structure of the mouth.
You can remove this "freeloader".To do this, you will need tweezers, or a medical clamp. Grab the tick with the tool as close as possible to the head, start to rotate it. Usually after the 3rd circle, it can be carefully removed. In no case can you use a thread, capturing it in this way in a loop, or even in some non-standard ways. The use of oil or other liquid also will not give a positive result, because when using oil, the mite can regurgitate to you in the wound and the chance of getting infected becomes very large. Also, when using a liquid, he can simply die without getting out of the wound. If a rupture occurred during removal, and you can not get the head with the proboscis, be sure to contact your doctor as soon as possible.
After removal, the wound is smeared with iodine or some other antiseptic. After the tick is removed, the instrument and hands should be washed thoroughly. If everything went well, then a week later the wound will heal.
