Basic rules and secrets in this art
Before you start creating something from vegetables and fruits, you need to know clearly which products are suitable for this, whether they need to be processed or not. Turnip is great for compositions in white colors, and beets for creating flowers such as roses. Onions, cabbage or cucumbers are perfect for leaflets. Citrus, watermelon, melon and zucchini are great for a variety of baskets and vases or boats.
You can make roses from sliced carrots, tomatoes and lemons to decorate a sliced or any other meat dish.
Also sometimes it is required to tint some elements in a dish, for this purpose it is better to use natural dyes. It can be beet juice, mayonnaise, paprika, saffron and so on.
In order for your dish to look perfect, you must clearly observe the proportions. Do not overload it with decorations in some servings, the fewer elements of decor, the better. Also, do not neglect the location of the decorations in your dish, if this is not done correctly, the result will not be exactly what you expected. And, of course, the colors in your creation should also be combined or contrasted.
Another important point in carving is the tool that you use. If your knives are not sharp enough or just not suitable for cutting vegetables and fruits, then, naturally, they can not create a masterpiece with their help.

Master class on carving from apples( creating a swan)
Such swans are very easy to do, so even the person who has decided to do carving for the first time will cope with this task. But, despite the ease in performance, this decoration perfectly complements any lunch or dinner.
Materials for work
- Large apple.
- Seeds of pepper, will be needed for the eyes.
- Knife. Toothpicks to strengthen the structure.
- Lemon and water. They will be needed for the solution.
First of all you need to make an acidic solution from the juice of lemon and water, it will not allow the apple to oxidize and darken in the process of creating a swan. For such acidic water, you need one half of a lemon juice per half liter of boiled water.
Take the apple and cut it into three pieces as shown in the photo.
In one of the large halves make a rectangular cut, there will be attached the neck of the swan.
Now cut out the wings on one side and on the other. Try to do it as carefully as possible, so that you do not have two cut halves in your hands, do not cut it to the end. Do not forget to periodically sprinkle the future swan with acidic water.
From the core, which we separated at the very beginning, we carve the neck.
Insert the neck into the previously made hole and admire the result.
The work is ready, congratulations!
