Unusual properties of the human body
The human body is a unique design created by nature. Each organ or system has tremendous capabilities that surprise, and sometimes even shock. And if you stop at each of them, you can learn a lot of fascinating facts.
- Brain. Every second in the human brain there are about several hundred thousand chemical reactions, on which a huge amount of energy is wasted. Mental tension often burns the same number of calories as under active physical exertion. This proves once again that the brain work is no less exhausting than the work of the muscles.
- Nose. The first line of defense is rightly considered the nasal mucosa, which protects the body from a variety of bacteria that try to penetrate inside. This is possible because of the unique properties of the nasal passages to vary the size of their blood vessels several times a day. As a result, one pass is constantly wider than the other.
- Eyes. Antibacterial fluid is in the lacrimal glands - it is it that blinks the eye organs when they blink. Tears of grief include a quarter more proteins than tears from irritants. And the presence in the tears of prolactin( a hormone for the production of milk) explains the nature and frequency of female whiny behavior.
- Leather. With pressure on the skin or the smallest cut, the blood vessels instantly narrow. This is easy to prove if you hold a blunt and delicate object on the arm. A white band appears on the touching point, indicating the outflow of blood. One square centimeter of skin contains almost 3000 sensitive cells, over 3 million microorganisms and about 100 sweat glands.
- Stomach. The food, having got in a stomach, is exposed to the strongest corrosive substance, capable to dissolve a razor blade. The risk of digesting oneself is completely excluded, since the inner shell of the stomach changes every three days.
- Ears. A sound that is in the range of 20 to 20,000 Hz is available to a person for perception. However, none of the people is able to hear the noise of moving blood in the neck and head, despite the acceptable frequency. The sound of your own voice goes into your ears through the bones, which slightly changes the timbre of the sound. For this reason, few people can recognize their own voice recorded on the recorder.
