Long strips of paper of different widths are twisted by means of special tools in a spiral, from which parts of different shapes are made. From such details it is possible to make not only flat, but also volumetric compositions.
In order to start making compositions in this technique, you need to know what it takes to quill.
In fact, no special tools are required. They are the simplest items, such as: tweezers, toothpicks, awls, needles, ruler, scissors, glue and, of course, paper. Long strips with a width of 1.5 mm to 1 cm are made of paper. Such strips can be cut on their own, but now special sets for quilling are sold.

Detail in the form of a drop. In order to give the spiral this shape, it is necessary to squeeze it from the center to one end.
Eye. It is necessary to squeeze the entire part, especially the corners.
The square is obtained by folding the spiral from 4 sides.
Diamond. Just flatten the square on one side.
The triangle is done in the same way as the square, only to bend the spiral is needed from 3 sides.
Boom. It is easy to make out of a triangle by bending one side in half.
Crescent. Squeeze as a square, only 2 corners and slightly bend.
